Purchase upgrades or upgrade using components?

Is it a bad idea to upgrade your cyberware at a ripperdoc using upgrade components?
Should you rather purchase higher tier cyberware for eddies and then sell the lower tier cyberware for a small cashback?

I was thinking perhaps the upgrade components are best saved for upgrading any good iconic weapons you have collected to higher tiers since you wont find them again.

However, vehicles can only be bought for eddies, so if you buy a bunch of cyberware you wont have enough cash left for cars and apartments.

I usually upgrade whatever OS I'm using with components, and then buy new tiers of cyberware as they unlock.

Eventually, fairly early on, money isnt much of an issue, neither is ammo. Headshots are cheap.

V can't buy up grades for her guns. So i make her up grade guns a little more. She is not allowed to carry much and she has to use he same old weapons. She found Fernier early on and that is what she got it was way good she let it go and i miss it.She had to use over watch for quite a while as well. She is more focused on using and upgrading her deck. She and i have played allot i am pretty sure she has got the best 25 iconic and almost totally upgraded. edit. V only gets the cars she earns she has quite a few. she still lives in her crummy Building 10 apartment. Well and with Judy and the Hide out with the Prezz.

As some have said it depends on what you need. I think Cyberwear at Rippers is locked behind level. The amount of materials needed to upgrade from Tier 1 to max is STUPID.
You're better off upgrading them from Tier 3 on and buying what you need. There are drops but random for most.
Some crafted weapons and drops are better than the Iconics and depending on a build, I believe a crafted weapon at 20 is weaker than one at 30. Iconics don't have mod slots or most don't but have can have scopes and silencers.
There is a lot of freedom in how to play and build V in CP.
