Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

Statistiche:
Who no Iconic LMG?
CP77 has 33 Iconoc Weapons 0 Iconic LMGs.
PL has 19 Iconic Weapon 0 Iconic LMGs.

Why make LMG a weapon if it will never get Iconic weapon? Why give it skill if there will never be Iconc LMGs?

Could have given us Rebecca's LMG or something.
i watch a lot of the weapon reviews youtube. I don't think i have ever seen them review an LMG from other then a military viewpoint. Meaning not home protection, etc.

plus its hard to be a stealther using LMG as your main weapon :cybereye:

There is Iconic Granade Launcher but it is Smart Shotgun
There is Iconic Automatic Mortat Gun but it is Assault Rifle
There is Iconic Big Heavy Lasercannon that you mount on your shoulder but is is Sniper Rifle

Damn I don’t plan on using LMGs but this feels like an oversight
Do not use. I already wasted 20h on LMG playthrough. Just don't.
I kinda like the HMG now. Definitely NOT for stealth play, but OMG it is fun! Just be careful around civilians with it or the cops get peeved REAL fast.

This is a part of a more complex problem of heavy builds getting the least love ever since the original release version of CP2077. I am not really familiar with the original pen&paper Cyberpunk 2020 etc. so I am not sure if the way the heavy builds are treated in CP2077 stems from the original concept or is a purely CDPR thing, however I suspect the latter.

There are iconic looking heavies in CP2077 dressed in trench coats and armed with HMGs (veteran gamers might recall the original Syndicate) - but these are NPCs only. V can only carry HMG for a short while, its damage is underwhelming anyway and while LMGs can be carried and stored like any weapon, there are few, no iconics and even more underwhelming than HMGs.

CDPR clearly want players to use shotguns on their heavy builds instead of MGs. As mentioned above I am not sure if there is any CP lore reason for that but I guess devs either are no fans of handheld miniguns from the Predator and Terminator movies or they believe such protagonist builds could not be balanced in the game.

I dare to disagree - the tremendous firepower of a minigun style HMG is balanced by the slow movement and poor maneuvrability of anyone using them, plus it takes a while to reach the high rate of fire, it eats through ammo fast and reloading takes time. So the HMG/LMG build would be unique, fun and not more OP than other builds - but CDPR for some reason avoid it. Pity....

Anything new regarding HMGs in 2.0 or PL? :steamhappy: I have not enetered Dogtown yet - so far just updated my perks and cyberware to 2.0 system.
