Ironically, I am pretty sure the Streetkid is the canon one though I don't have any real confirmation about it.
I play all 3 paths, to have different playstyles.
my 'main V' as it were, is a Streetkid. Its just the right path for me.
I always end up going back to that lifepath, even tho a lot of others say 'oh, streetkid is *expletive deleted* play Nomad or Corpo instead'
2. Nomad - I just like the idea of the Nomad's. And Panam > Judy.
3. Street - has nothing going for it as far as I'm concerned. it was shoehorned in because they needed a third and a street kid version.
You come to night city, find out it sucks, get in way over your head, turn it around, and then leave with a new family
Street kid fits best over all. You are from town so knowing people and how the place is fits better for a lot of the quest and story.
Corp is the weakest LP theme and story wise. But you got a little revenge going on in there so it kind of works.
But in my opinion Nomad Solo the strongest fitting most of the trailers and making the best story open and close.
Personally though I went Netrunner street kid my frist run. And I'm doing a new run for PL as a corpo netrunner
Aye, ive told folks this when asked 'which path should i pick?'
If you have no knowledge of the tabletop or game, pick Nomad.
you are outside of the city, you know nothing of the life inside and how it works. So you BOTH find out how things work there (lol)
If you know the tabletop and have played it before (or Shadowrun ether)
Streetkid is good. You know the slang, you might know the people who are movers and shakers. You know your way around the style and some of the systems.
and Corpo is good if you like to be slick, rich or a nasty piece of work to people in games (cause Corpo V's replies are sometimes a lot nastier than anything else. but then, thats the Corpo way. Step on everyone and everything that is in between you and power/money/control)
heck your lifepath has NO EFFECT on the endings.
at best you get a few speech choices that might avoid combat. but why would you?
its analogous to putting a new skin on weapon.
for RP purpose i concur. Hence when i do street kid I did, well need to wait till the modders adjust for 2.0, the script so can romance Judy.
just there is no cool romance for a corpo that i can recall.
Nomad for Male V
Street Kid is straight up garbage.
That is what I'm doing for PL I am RPing as a complete ♥♥♥♥ bag borderline cyberpyscho.
My Frist playthrough pre-2.0 I was a street kid with a heart of gold.
