Attribute points don’t make quite sense in build.
So from what I see, the number doesn’t make sense.

For each attribute, except intel, you only get much benefit if you either get either 9, or 15, or 20. There is no point of getting any other number between those like 10, 11, 12, ..16, 17, and so on.

If I go as a balanced build, let’s say, it should be something like this 15, 15, 15, 15, and 9, but then I have 2 extra points left. Where else should I dump those 2 points to make a good impact on my character?! Why couldn’t I get another extra either 3 or 4 points to make a good impact? That means either every attribute is 15, or I get 1 attribute maxed out.

Or, let’s say, even if I make another different, if I decide to max out 2 attributes: 20, 20, 9, 9, and 9, then I have 4 extra points. Where else am I gonna put 4 points in to make good spent??!! Remember that either 9, or 15, or 20, you would only get the most out of an attribute.

Before update 2.0, the attribute trees still make sense. You would get benefit from having either 12, 16, 18, or so on and on. Now, either only 9, or 15, or 20.

Every point should count. I don't want to meta-game plan my "build" I just want to play the game.

Yes, point still counts, but you don’t get a chance to put any perk point in when you don’t have a whole perk tree unlocked across. Imagine if you stop your attribute at 14 or 8, it’s kinda useless actually.

I don’t know what the perk point max is, but perk points are useless if you don’t unlock the perk tree in an attribute.

That is true, my point was that we might be able to open up more trees with extra points.

Every point helps you. Buy cyberware that is attuned to your highest main attribute/s and your damage output can increase exponentially, and points also offer other bonuses and behind-the-scenes numbers going up for the stats that each attribute is in charge of. Every point counts. There are a bunch of modifiers for cyberware, equipment, and abilities that attribute points go hand-in-hand with. Not to mention gameplay elements that you can use to your advantage and scenes that can change based on those attribute levels.

The game has gotten quite intricate honestly. There are a ton of interweaving numbers. 2.0 is a min-maxers dream.

At I think Tier 3 Cyberware start giving bonuses that scale based on certain attributes. Additionally, each stat has innate scaling bonuses per point in it, INT gives 1 RAM per 4 points, Cool gives more innate crit chance per point, I think Reflex gives Crit DMG per point ect.

I went the route of maxing Intelligence and Tech attributes, and then cool is my "secondary." I have cyberware that is attuned to int/tech attributes to increase my damage outputs. I have end game skills unlocked on my tech and int trees and I can pretty much mow through a compound full of guys in minutes. Maxed attributes are well worth it.

Yea, but the point that I want to raise is that any point in an attribute, it only worth to put in if you want to raise it to certain number: either 9, or 15, or 20. Any other number is kinda pointless. Just think, for example, if you stop one of your attributes at 14, it is really pointless isn’t it?

I’m talking about base game only by the way, I don’t own the DLC.

This. By investing in one point in a single attribute, you can get over threshold in some related aspect of the game that can tie your build together etc. It's awesome, but there's a bit of patch tuning to do to flesh it out IMHO.

i am pretty sure hes not talking about the dlc, u need to keep playing the game to see what he was talking about, cyberware attribute bonus will be there around t3 irc , and u can actually loot attribute shard that give you points from enemies.(might be skill point shard i dont remember what it was when i got it)

If you scroll over the attributes, each point gives you bonuses like +1 RAM or +1.25% crit bonus, and all that stacks with your cyberware, your gear, your weapons, etc.. That is how you make your character strong. You stack points on all the choices you are given for those things based on how you play. Crit chance and RAM are extremely important for a netrunner for example because their cyberware will have a better chance to crit and they will have more ram to utilize, which one extra RAM can mean the difference between life and death in combat, or being able to use or not use an ability. The changes may seem small, but stacked with everything else with a focused build will make you a powerhouse.

You don't need the expansion for any of this to be relevant. These changes are in 2.0 regardless.
