Cops are attacking me when I help them fight against criminals

I found this too. Clearly wherever is handing out the NCPD jobs is doing it on the down low and not informing his fellow officers.

There's a few long threads about it. Some people like it and have head canoned a reason why it happens, others (and I'm one of them) think that NPC aggro can be screwy with 2.0 both for when NPCs attack and for when they don't.

If you feel very strongly about it, send it as feedback or a bug report to CDPR's support.

So I can solve some cases and help police but I can't help them fight the criminals now, this is just stupid and doesn't work right

Also I just waited claws to kill cops and finish them after, I get reputation for them

Killing them with a gun doesn't seem to trigger the cops usually, but they'll shoot me every time if I try to help out with melee. It's just a bug.

npc aggro is definitively messed up in 2.0, i accidentally nudged a pedestrian when i was parking my car and a police a couple meters away immediatly started shooting at me
for the record, the pedestrian wasnt even knocked over, just slightly hurt and i was going at a snails pace

It's really funny there's a whole side gig part of the game where the NCPD is asking you to help them, but if you do they shoot at you then pay you later anyway. Great work CDPR

I literally just cleared all the scanner hustles in Watson and this is what I have learned
I found this happens for a few reasons.

you hit a bystander... Maybe it was a stray bullet maybe you threw a grenade and didn't see the guy hiding behind the bench.

You jumped in on an existing fight. For what ever reason these seem to have the highest chance the cops will start shooting you. If you roll up on a shoot out between the cops and gangers and open fire while the gangers are still showing non-hostile this seems to proc you as the aggressor. You can keep this from happening by trying to get the gangers to argo on you before you attack.

Last if they are attack you after the shoot out it is because they are still in an alert and your have your weapon out. This you can tell is going to happen becuase they get a blue dimond with an eye in it over their heads that is filling up. The same as their search mode. Just put your gun away and it stops it from filling and then they will not attack.

I can't even go up and talk to the ones in V's building. There is a quest linked to it. If I walk up to them, they aggro and start shooting me.

Definitely needs patched to fix the base interactions. All they have to do is look at you now, and will attack.

Yeah, it's messed up right now. police will just shoot you on sight, for standing near them. If you help them during crimes, they will aggro onto you for shooting at the criminals now, too.

I don't think it's intended, and we'll likely see this fixed (hopefully) or maybe this is just something we have to live with now.
