2.0 Tips, Bugs & Workarounds
The following is a list of bugs I have experienced, some tips I have accumulated as I have just passed level 30, and some workarounds for some of those pesky buggers.

Please let me know if you find any use out of this and I will continue to update it as I progress into the Phantom Liberty content, etc.

Edit (9/25): updated the list with additional categories to help break up the clutter. Also removed redundant information.

Edit (9/26): added Santo Domingo to the list and updated various lists with new bugs/work-arounds.

Quick Tips for 2.0
  • Saves prior to 2.0 are currently broken, especially if you've completed the game on that save. Cyberware will remain on your body even if you remove them, some people report that they can't add or remove them at all, others are having issues with their wardrobes, etc. It's clear CDPR wants you to start a new game.
  • You can no longer purchase components. They can be gathered via hacking stuff, finding them around the world, or disassembling weapons and gear (you get whatever tiered component based on the tier of the item you're disassembling).
  • You can now buy cars from either the AutoFixer terminals on site or through your computer at your apartment(s).
  • You can upgrade and craft items now under your inventory (it's no longer a separate menu tab). Upgrading is pretty straight forward, you need X of whatever tier component to upgrade your gear to that tier.
  • Regarding component farming, I have found more success doing the following: don't disassemble weapons, sell them. You can disassemble clothes to your heart's content because they're automatically saved to your wardrobe once you own them and they don't add stats and they sell for hardly anything. Weapons on the other hand can be sold for quite a bit and I have found the money grind to be rather tedious since 2.0.

General Tips
  • Just a reminder for anyone curious: if you find random locked boxes with exclamation points they are rewards for NCPD missions. You would just need to find the mission that coorelates with that box in order to open it.
  • Updating your keybinds so that you are using Hold for run instead of Toggle will make your life a lot easier if you're a stealth-style character. Having the toggle is janky because if you don't press it on time before walking up to an enemy to knock out you'll have to reposition yourself to reset the prompt.
  • Reloading saves resets NPC schedules. This can be a useful tool for those who prefer to take the stealthy approach. (Just hit F5 before a potential encounter and reload the quicksave)
  • Using the environment to kill your enemies while stealth may immediately put you in combat (this applies especially to hacking cars and using them as weapons), even if you're hiding now everyone knows where you are. Consider this option carefully if you prefer the stealthy approach.
  • Toggle walk will prohibit you from sprinting while in crouch. You need to make sure toggle walk is off when crouching if you intend to use your Ninjitsu perk because you can't toggle it off while crouched.

General Bugs
  • NCPD has random spawns that don't react to player actions (generally acts of violence towards crimials specifically); reloading a save actually causes them to disappear if it breaks your immersion too much.
  • Some pedestrians will disappear when entering your vehicle.
  • Opening doors near NPCs who are unaware of you still does not peak their interest, guess everyone's used to ghosts, but they sure as hell can see you through glass walls (but not glass panes in doors??) just fine. I am specifically talking about NPCs facing the door you are opening. I literally opened one right in a dude's face and he didn't even seem to notice.
  • Additionally, if an NPC is alerted (even up to red) by you through a glass wall they will not investigate.
  • I never noticed this in the past, but walking over loose objects on the ground will literally launch them in the air a few feet. This is more common of an occurance with loose trash on the ground.
  • Coming out of the map still flashbangs you sometimes when the lighting system resets.
  • I still got issues with gang members wanting to throw hands when you walk by. Pedestrians seem to be allowed to go where they please, but not you.
  • Sometimes Drop Points will glitch when dropping off job items, hitting F will open the sell menu. Simply back away from the terminal to clear your prompts and walk up to it again and it'll work.
  • Not sure what's caused this but it's happened to me a few times: sometimes you are unable to call your vehicle with V after a gig. Reloading your save fixes this.
  • Ping doesn't always highlight objects, no obvious fix for this; it's just hit or miss. A simple solution is to just use camera systems and ping the enemies manually with your middle mouse button.
  • Still annoying that when you're in combat some enemies just know where you are the whole time. Yes, you can hide from most, but not all (cyberpsychos specifically, you can't stealth kill more than half of them).
  • Sometimes traffic stops and won't move. I believe this is caused by violence in the area as I see it more often after I come out of combat or see NCPD fighting someone on the street.
  • Looking away from pedestrians and then looking back in their direction you will find they are no longer there and sometimes new pedestrians will have spawned.
  • The reticle for throwing weapons is pretty troll, hovering your reticle over an enemy's head will give you the estimated damage as if you throw at that position it'll happen. Nope, you usually need to aim higher. Don't. Trust. The reticle. This is something you're just going to have to get a feel for.

Watson District
  • During the first rescue mission for Sandra Dorsett, Jackie Wells will respawn/teleport to you when you sneak to the back of the mission area and will walk into walls or knock random stuff over. More of an immersion breaker, really.
  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Where the Bodies Hit the Floor: if you initiate combat with Ellis Carter the Maelstrom nearby will automatically enter combat with you -- if you are close enough to them -- on the side of the cyberpsycho. I'm not well-versed in the Cyberpunk lore enough, but it seems strange that a cyberpsycho would get help from anyone considering anyone is on the menu.
  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Where the Bodies Hit the Floor: regarding Ellis Carter, you can't sneak him. Even if your Cool and stealth abilities are maxed, it is a scripted, initiated fight (I have tried every imaginable way to sneak him to verify). I think it's dumb, but hey, c’est la vie.
  • Gig: Many Ways to Skin a Cat: turning off the surveillance system via the 2nd floor terminal does not actually turn off the system.
  • Gig: Many Ways to Skin a Cat: if you steal the van without killing the guards outside they will automatically enter combat once you open the doors. This is immersion breaking for me from a social engineering perspective because guards should become yellow alert and try to investigate this unfamiliar person in the van rather than be ready to throw hands if the van moves.
  • Burning Desire: by default your car spawns once you accept the mission, an NCPD officer was behind my vehicle. Once I got in and waited for shock rocket guy, the NCPD car just rammed my vehicle and I became wanted. I would've let them go around me, however; they didn't even try to until I started accelerating. Once again, loading a save resets the world and you can do the mission without any issues.
  • Gig: Flight of the Cheetah: as you escape with Hwangbo the car will randomly stop while Hwangbo has dialogue about how good he was during the escape. Let the dialogue play out and you can start driving again.
  • Gig: Freedom of the Press: the rear doors of the build are uninteractable. There are only two ways in: the front door and climbing the top of the building from an opening in the railing above the dumpster on the left side of the building. There's a sun roof there and one of the panes is missing.
  • Gig: Concrete Cage Trap: after walking Mike out of his apartment my frames took a giant nose dive (90fps to 5-10fps) unsure of the cause but pausing the game via the game menu for a few seconds remedied it.
  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Lt. Mower: fun fact about this one is that a couple of the bodies "dead" around the psycho are actually alive. I wonder if this is why you can't stealth kill the psycho?

Westbrook District
  • The Space in Between: the thugs hanging out in front of Fingers' chop shop are bugged. If you talk ♥♥♥♥ and initiate a fight the thugs will go red and stand up. They don't do anything but stand there and will only attack if you hit them. Just a weird dynamic in the interaction so I assume a bug. Nothing mission/game-breaking.
  • Gig: Tyger and Vulture: going into the women's bathroom in the gambling den an NPC blocked me from exiting the bathroom and wouldn't move. Reloading a save got rid of her.
  • You can't open the secret room in the apartment on the upper floor of Japantown Apartments unless you are doing Gig: Greed Never Pays. Entering this apartment prior to accepting the gig and pressing the button will mess with your dialogue with Johnny Silverhand during the mission.
  • Your stash is still unusable in the Japantown Apartments.
  • Gig: We Have Your Wife: if you get into combat with the guards on the bottom floor where Lauren is held Lauren might bug out and not move after talking to her. I just reloaded a save and stealth-killed everyone.
  • Gimme Danger: approaching Takemura as he's talking to the NCPD; if you don't try to interrupt and let the dialogue play out then Takemura will bug and you have to step away and come back to open dialogue with him.
  • Gig: I Can See Clearly Now: the moving of the dumpster portion has been bumped from a 4 body requirement to a 9 which will be hilarious to see on reddit. I don't have a current solution to progress if you don't meet the criteria.

Santo Domingo District
  • There is a Light that Never Goes Out: it is highly recommended you let the idiot, vengeful guy attack the NCPD by himself when you stop under the overpass. Don't engage in combat with the NCPD and let the scene playout or you will miss a whole lot to this mission.
  • Gig: Race to the Top: was bugged for me, upon approach El Capitan wouldn't initiate a call or anything and so the gig just showed "Undiscovered." Reloading a save while near the factory fixed it. (I did try actually doing the mission without talking to him and stealing the info gets stuck and you just stand there unable to connect.
  • Gig: For My Son: to make your life easier if you're stealthing this, if you have the Beat on the Brat mission line active but haven't visited the Animals gym, the entire front area will be neutral for you to mess around with and find options to handle your assassination.
  • Gig: The Union Strikes Back: Don't even try to klep the keycard off the receptionist's desk. I've tried every which way, distracting, killing, etc. and you're going to get thrown into combat (it's a long story, but basically the receptionist will always catch you). If you want to stealth-run this, just distract the guard with one of the vending machines and use the left utility room to get into the back.
  • Gig: Desperate Measures: there's some Valentinos sitting outside of the garage where you're supposed to drop off the vehicle. It's actually really dumb that they're there because the mission has you enter a garage with automatic doors that shut on them, but they still can walk through the doors and attack you. The funny part is that once you exit the vehicles the Valentinos can't attack you anymore, but you're still in combat so they'll circle around you. Just expect a fight the moment you exit the warehouse.
