Dogtown Market performance with RTX
Is it me or in the dog town market area the FPS dips to 30-40 with Ray tracing and path tracing.

My Specs: 32 GB Ram, RTX 4070 and Amd Ryzen 9 7900x. playing at 1440P

I would expect that out of a 4070 midlevel GPU.Does not seem odd. Ray Tracing is high level..Very few GPUs can manage it.

Well per usual I will not be using Ray Tracing even with a 4080.

Are you a troll? I get 80-90 FPS with ray tracing on average.

as soon as i entered dogtown after doing the part where you take the lifts it became unplayable meanwhile the rest of the game gets a solid 40-50fps with pathtracing on

Dogtown is unplayable. Seen quite a few posts on here and reddit talking about it. Not sure what is going on.

Its demanding for sure. Great experience on a 4090 though.

Weirdly, a fresh reload of the game is fine for a bit, but any time spent in the main menu especially, but other menus generally causes it to slow down. I noticed the same behavior with the 2.0 update in areas that ran fine before. Maybe something about the DLSS 3.5 changes are having unintended effects with regular raytracing.

game is quite buggy, on this expansion , is trying to save all the time , and the only way to progress is to hit pause menu , press F5 for auto save ,and than i can finally progress in to the task/objective/action that i need to do lolz

I dropped in a DLSS 2.5.1 dll and it fixed my weird issue with menus causing fps drops. I wonder if a rendering pipeline is having issues with the newer DLSS, or some flag meant for one of the new features is one unintentionally since I didn't change my settings.

Me too. My spec is 4070ti, 5950x, 32GB ram and at 1440p 21:9, it runs bad around dog town marketplaces.

There's pretty much a huge memory leak going on in Dogtown... XD The fact they "acknowledged" performance issues on that area prior patch 2.01 pretty much confirms the issues everyone has with ray tracing in Dogtown. I can't tell if peformance was even worse before 2.01, I barely played in Dogtown in 2.0, but I also get massive FPS drops when VRAM gets depleted in Dogtown and gpu wattage draw drops for the rest of the gaming session. The only fix is to restart the game.

I advice you monitor your GPU performance with MSI afterburner to check if you also notice this behaviour.
