Early Gorilla arms possible?

I would like to do a gorilla arm build. Is it possible to get them very early or do I have to do the heist to open the city first?

Pre-heist.

Ripperdocs have been changed so that for the most part they offer the same stuff for sale, no need to find a specific ripperdoc who specializes in particular gear. There's at least enough to do in Watson that Vik will be willing to sell you tier 2 gorilla arms if you like, before you do the Heist.

Every ripperdoc sells the same cybergear now, its unlocked as you get enough street cred. So if you can earn enough street cred to unlock them, yes you can get them before the heist.

You can get them at character level 10 (not street cred level) from any ripper in Watson. You do not have to open the city first. That's when I got my monowires and cyberarms and mantis blades were also on sale.
