So level up as much as I can before dedicating crafting components to upgrade the weapon?
The worst thing to do in my opinion is go for the guns you want early at level 15-20, these'll spawn as a blue or worse. Meaning that you would have to spend your hard earned upgrade components and Eddies to get it from level 3+ to level 4 then to level 4+.
Iconic weapons get special damage bonuses so they are good, but upgrading is very expensive in components - and those same components are used to upgrade cybereware - so having a lower level iconic and only upgrading when you have a pile of components is what I will do going forward.
Weapon upgrades no longer depend on your level and are independent of the tech attribute. Also, my bad on crafting a weapon to your level, as it shouldn't(?) matter. Weapons have a hard coded attack stat now, and upping the rarity will now just add bonus stats like bleeding, etc.
edit:
That I know of and after doing some tests.
They scale with you so you might as well go with the flow and pick em' up after you hit the level that you desire. It ain't worth the Eddies nor components right now with no "Scrapper" perk.
I'm level 25 and Psalm is still only available to craft as a level 1 so you have to upgrade them through all the stages with components. The physical weapons you can pick up like Fenrir on the other hand, it would be better to wait.
But for iconics you can't like re-craft it right? It's just you get it at what level you get it and the damage and stats are fixed until you upgrade right?
Upgrading as a level 1 character or a level 50 character will be the same result.
Understood, very helpful! Thanks choombas!
