It's only a one time use due to the overhaul update so that people can respec because of all the changes.

It's not really meant as a respec option despite being available even to those who start a new game, since in roleplay terms attributes are a part of V's personality and dialogue choices, so that's why it's a one-time use.

There is a mod for infinite attribute respec. It's 2.0 compatible.

So attributes were always locked in in the previous updates. They have never let you change attributes without starting a new game. They gave us that one time attribute change as an added feature, which I think is really awesome. Now the perks you can change as much as you want. All you have to do is go into the perk tree you want to remove perks from and press the middle mouse button while hovering over the unwanted perk in order to get your point(s) refunded. Then you can put it into another perk, free of charge. You can do this as many times as you want.

So we did not lose anything, we actually gained something.

Ya, im mixed about this. I think they should allow more respecs but it needs to be very expensive or needs a time investment, otherwise it will make story related dialogue that rewards you for investing in a stat to feel incredibly hollow. This isnt a forever game and there is no new game plus, so feel like you are limiting people playing around with your new talent system.

I understand WHY they limit it, to try and give your choices impact, but going through the game again just to try out a different build MOST people will not do.
Why does it need to be more expensive? It's a single player game... limiting what you can do in terms of builds is just stupid, you're not competing against anyone...

If you could respec constantly you could just respec before each challenge to be fair =p

Like moving the container infront of the AI and then switching it to INT to get your quickhacks back again.

And yeah, if you could respec all the time your mods and quickhacks for sure would be problematic since the capacity would change and so on.

Yes, we lost a skill system that allowed for any possible amount of customization for anyones playstyle and got one that forces certain playstyles and has a bunch of gimmicky moves.

Can only respec attributes once due to the 2.0 update. They gave that so those who want to use thier old saves could respec to go with the new perk system. They just gave a 1 time respec to everyone.

You could never respec attributes in the base game.

The game has many attribute checks, either being doors, windows, access points or dialog options.
It can be easily cheese-able if respecs are available... But all said, there`s other devs that do not care, DOS2 for sure didn`t xD It`s all on the dev to decide how the game has to be played just like any game, someone has to put some rules or there`s no game.

You're not limited in what builds you can use. You can't, however, have an omni build that can do anything it wants whenever it wants.

Limits are important, because otherwise there really isn't a *game* in which decisions actually have any import at all.

yea I know but I made a mistake during character build and I'm already finished the prologue chapter which is took me an hours, I just don't want to redo all that again just to respec the stats

I am not a friend of limiting your respecs either
Just give me an Option at home to Respekt so i can try aomething different
There are just 2 ir 3 things that deem to be good but there are so spread out you would need to start all over again
There is no need for limiting respecs
Its a World where you can change bodyparts so its lorefriendly to
