BUG: Can't Drive Car for the First Time

Posting here so others can find the solution faster. When first hopping into your car from Jackie, if you hop in the passenger side the game will glitch out and you will be unable to drive.

To fix this, re-load your previous auto save before you hop into the car and hop into the drivers side.

Had a similar issue later in the game. Vehicles are a little wonky, thankfully there's a couple workarounds. Quicksave, then quickload fixes many issues, and often just running down the street a ways and summoning the vehicle will fix things.

I tried this fix. No success. I don't even have the option to open the driver side door. I deleted all mods, all associated files, and reinstalled the game. The result? Exactly the same thing!!

I gave up. I'll let this game stew for a few months when it's in a more playable state.....hopefully.

You can also simply run to the ripperdoc instead. Worked for me when I triggered this bug.

How could I do that? Jackie won't drive the car, I can't get the elevator to go back upstairs, and the garage door is closed. You're essentially trapped in the basement garage, unable to do anything at all.

I believe what you are referring to happens AFTER, the next morning. I never got that far.

I was very excited to play this game again and spent a good amount of time modding the game and everything, only to be met with one roadblock after another. Even after erasing everything and starting over, nothing changed! I wasn't too thrilled about all that time wasted for no good reason.

For me, this game is unplayable. There are plenty of other games to play. This one will be revisited when it actually works.

Not that your first post even makes clear which quest you mean, whereas the OP is clearly about the later quest (because Jackie drives out of the garage, not you; you drive in the later quest).

As a nomad you can't drive your car when you find it at the dump. You can get in and steer it but it wont drive forward or backward, so you can't retrieve it like you use to be able to.
