adapting an old save
Is there any way to adapt an old playthough to 2.0 or am I stuck starting over?

Old saves are compatible already. When you log in, Vik gives you a phone call asking to go "update" your cyberware .

I got a friend playing his old save and says its been absolutely fine. Zero problems.
You just get a call from Vik and he resets your cyberware and gives you your perk points back so you have to respec.

The developers did advise to do over though.

I'm playing across PC and PS5 using a cloud save so i restarted just to avoid any problems and there are enough changes to make it feel fresh and worth while to be honest.

I've been running round with a save initially from 1.1. It's been fine. Little more visual jankiness than I see in a new save but that's been true for a long while now.

Just be aware that if your save has been done using mods then you may have more significant issues. Especially mods which make alterations which are actually retained by the save.

Technically speaking, its doing alright, I guess, but I have to now rebuild my whole character.

I had been doing a pistols/decker build and I can't find any of those skills anywhere and I don't know what to do with my equipment. Should i just dump everything but 1 set of weapons? Same with outfits?

Use the wardrobe for your outfits perhaps? You only need to have something in your inventory once and then you always have it to use it for the wardrobe. But builds and gear are well outside my knowledge - I am a very simple man, my V has a big sword and they hit things with it until the thing falls over or V does. ;)

I've been guessing as I've been going along for builds. People seem to forget there is a transmog system but anyway clothes are now useless, you may as well not wear any.

Everything is useless now. I added back no stat points, changed nothing and I'm already OP fighting anyone. They really went out of their way to kill this game for anyone actively playing it.
