Can you not change mods on a gun when one has already been equipped?
Was a little confused on this, if that is the case is there any way at all to even change a mod put on the gun?

ive been trying to change it but it won't let me, keeps saying slot already filled

I could be wrong but iirc the patch notes said something about no longer being able to remove mods on weapons as an updated change to weapon modding. I'll go check now and edit my reply if I find it or not (or if someone else answers before me)

Edit: Found it
Added new weapon mods and reworked some existing ones. Once installed in a weapon, mods are irreplaceable.

Or as Mortui said too ^^

Oh ♥♥♥♥ I was thinking scope and barrel. I'm sorry. Mods I don't know, if not, that's stupid, and a game mod needs to come out quick to revert that dumb design choice.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you! thought my game was probably bugged but glad it's not. I'll probably hold out on adding mods to a gun until I get better ones

So just to be clear, once I add a Mod to a gun there is ZERO way to replace that Mod with a higher quality (or different) one, meaning that this particular gun is now utterly useless to me if it has a low quality Mod permanently stuck on it.

So now I have got to craft/buy/find a whole new gun instead (with no used Mod slots) if I want to add my better quality Mod now - That seems excessively stupid unless I've not understood something!

I don't understand the requirement for this change i.e. what problem were CD:PR trying to solve with this?

They are trying to solve the problem that the game is only 50h long.
