Practically speaking, if you're on NVIDIA very high end, path tracing on, DLSS on.
If you're high end AMD or NVIDIA, max everything, RT on, upscaling on.
If you're between mid and high end, then it's max everything, no RT. Upscale if you need to (depends on resolution).
That's quite impressive for that card
Does this game have DLAA support? Then THAT would be MAX.
EDIT: DLAA supported, I see. If you want MAX, then that is it on a Nvidia card.
Um what. I already said max is without upscaling. Read what you quoted again. Upscaling reduces quality.
DLAA.... that's just anti aliasing. That's basically nothing. It's literally TAA (temporal anti aliasing) with a few AI tricks to make it better during motion.
But DLAA is not "just" TAA. It's full res AA and very demanding on the GPU.
Try it :)
When I decide I actually like NVIDIA maybe. Running a 7900 XTX. I will check out tech details though. My understanding is it didn't change much.
I think I watched Gamer's Nexus cover it. But could be wrong. Guess I'm a bit confused as to why you'd even need DLAA as upscaling (FSR/DLSS) is effectively AA.
I had to reinstall windows to fix a bunch of issues I've been having lately (windows 7 ultimate updated to windows 10 professional and moved from one PC to another years ago) Sure its a pain having to reinstall everything but the results show for themselves. Before I was barely getting 60fps with everything off. Only issue I have now is the game is using XBox controller prompts with my KB&M.
DLSS is DEGRADING image quality. DLAA is IMPROVING it.
On a side note: How is owning a AMD GPU? Never been a "fanboy" of either, I just get what's best at the time/money. Currently a 3070ti. But I'd like something better.
Oh so they are mutually exclusive. Guess I kind of answered my own question. Runs a little counter to most games now kind of demanding upscaling. At least it's a great way to future proof games so they look even better as new hardware comes out.
So I've primarily ran two AMD GPUs recently. A 5700XT and now the 7900 XTX. Absolutely love them. Both are Sapphire and I've had no problems. AMD used to be known for crap software but really turned it around to the point where NVIDIA look like their drivers can't keep up with AMDs.
That said, if you are looking for an upgrade, NVIDIA is still dominating AMD on ray tracing. And just having the best flagship. Hardware wise the 4090 doesn't have competition if you're made of money.
But AMD has really impressed me recently. If you get a few minutes these guys are my most reputable resource, and a pretty good comparison of the latest cards and helped me make my decision. I'm not a fanboy of any tech, but I do become loyal once I'm really happy with a given product. And Sapphire impressed me so much I stuck with em.
Best bang for buck isn't either flagship though. But if you watch this, you'll see NVIDIA just seems to stop competing on price and I'm not rich.

LOL, I bet. My GPU just went up 3 degrees reading that.
And thank you for your thoughts. I am not made of money, but I'm not exactly broke either.
RT is no big deal for me, so AMD is absolutely an option.
