My plan is to play several builds up to just before I meet the VDB since (according to the press) that's when PL enters the plot.

I'm just starting a new game and skipping to PL. Don't have time to replay the whole game again.

So I can start new game, make a new character and skip main game to go straight to PL? Is this not the same like carrying on with a current save?

I love games. I really like Lies of P but I feel like PL deserves my money.

What i readed and heared are, you need a finished VDB questline for PL or make a new char and start the DLC.

I am just loading an old save. Like you I don't have time to spend 80 hours again doing everything again. I was able to see the new changes here and there and respec my character with the new skill system.

If Phantom Liberty is good and it does change the ending to the main game. I might consider doing a new playthrough. But being a completionist, I know how much stuff I have to do and not something I want to do again. I have about 3 playthroughs already.

If this was like a 12 to 15 hour game, no problem but my current character has about 120 hours into it. Even though a lot of it was just exploring.

I tried a saved game and started over, I have terrible screen tearing when I look at certain NPC's and sometimes at different directions. Worse place is inside the Afterlife bar. I'm running a Omen i7-9700 with a 2070 super. I have good FPS. I updated to the newest G Force drivers. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

screen tear can usually be solved by turning v-sync on

It's supposedly recommended to start a new game after the 2.0 patch. Which I assume is because it coordinates with the new functions of the DLC.

yeah I have exactly the same dilemma. I have sunken like 100 hours and I dont want to repeat that just to experience PL and the game they way it meant to be experienced. I might do 2nd playthrough but I will just dive straight to PL for now.

Which you can still use an old save and get adjusted before PL drops.

I saw some police chases in action and some random thugs doing drivebys.

You should be able to to experience the expansion just fine. I mean your save is probably the last mission. You will get a phone call and you head over to the new area. And since it does deal with helping you with your problem with Johnny it fits nicely that you would do Phantom Liberty before you finish the main game ending. You get a new ending from what I heard so fingers cross that V is saved! I want my happy ending lol

You still have to play the game, the content will be available after you can get to the Pacifica area. Or at least until the lockdown is over. Not really sure. But I think it around the time you go to the Pacifica area during the main quest where you deal with the Voodoo boys.

It was during a QA I head it when you can start the expansion.

Apparently you start Phantom Liberty from the main menu but I am sure it will have a predetermine character other that what of what choices you may have chosen or did if you did during the game or ending.

Here is a site that talks about it. https://www.ginx.tv/en/cyberpunk-2077/phantom-liberty-chapter-timeline
