i don't even use twitch, i sure hope modder's can mod it in, cause i'm not gonna support twitch.

Since someone already found the ID code for the Iconic sniper, it may be in the game files and can be obtained through modding... which will make me question whose idea was it to paywall what is already part of the finished product. It just feels like I am travelling back in time to when companies would lock content as dlc on disc.

Just when they have the opportunity to redeem themselves with an excellent patch, they do this and immediately ruin some of that goodwill with predatory psychological tricks and microtransactions.

These companies have no shame anymore.

I’ll admit , this is pretty low brow for cdred. I love sniper rifles, but I will just live with what’s in the game. I’m very disappointed. Like they care what I feel heh

Yeah it sucks but its not like its an entirely unique gun. Its just the same smart sniper rifle with a small buff, its not like youre missing anything by not having it.

It should be purely a skin, it should not have any extra stats. Or perks.

It's a somewhat unique gun though. With changes to crafting and accounting for the gun perk you'd missing on some extra damage which does affect gameplay. In either case it's a ♥♥♥♥ move to restrict gameplay affecting items behind 3d party purchases. Release a gun DLC if you must but don't force people to register and spend money on twitch.

Interesting practice... How is that supposed to work longterm? Eventually either the game or twitch will stop being supported (I mean technologically), making it literally impossible to get the gun.

My guess is, they'll patch the gun back into the game after some time, such a contract is usually temporally limited only...

I've canceled my preorder after hearing about this. This disgusting anti consumer behavior is not something that I'm willing to support. Hopefully some people pissed off like me and canceled too.

Amusing that no news outlet or gaming "influencer" as talked about this.

On the other end, most of the critics about MTX in games will be sponsored to play phantom liberty tomorrow while participating in this farce...

A BS practice for the BS times. Not only do we have to watch some (insert insult) streamers, we have to pay them (and amazon) too... I'd rather have microtransactions; at least the money would go to the game makers.
