Am I crazy to think the game looks better without ray tracing?
Considering Frame Gen still causes issues with menus for some people and how bad the texture resolution gets on anything but Quality on DLSS hardly seems worth even using the ray tracing. Some areas will looks a little better but for the most part I see little difference and in some cases Ray tracing looks worse because itll make a scene way too dark or blurry.

I'm on 5800x3D/4070TI and I think raytracing looks gorgeous.

If your machine struggles with it your not going to see the benefit, but if it can handle it then it's night and day.

Are you saying with DLSS OFF you still think Ray Tracing is not adding to the graphical fidelity? In my experience DLSS is the culprit for the stuff you're describing

Well I aint runnin Ray tracing without DLSS and neither are 99% of people. and Yes I spent few hours turning scenes on and off ray tracing. I think it improves very select few areas in the game and isn't worth it and got feedback from other people live so I'm not the crazy one its just not worth running it. I can get better fidelity slapping in a reshade and tweaking a few things. New DLSS tech is cool but the Ray Tracing tech seems lacking. I don't think auto generated lighting can beat hand crafted stuff that people put effort into.

Nope I think you're crazy on this opinion. You're clearly welcome to it but there's no way a reshade is comparable to the full path traced experience.

Yeah i don't know what the big deal about DLSS is, it just seems to make everything more blurry to me.

Sometimes the ray tracing can do wonky things, throw ghosting or some weird cut out shadows... and then of course there is some surfaces materials in the game... that I hope if Night City has a sunny day, people carry their sunglasses and UV protection cream because they are absolute mirrors.
But without it in some scenes I feel also that the game lacks some shadow, the ambient occlusion not doing enough.

I`ve seen some of the previews with Pathtracing, and even though it has some ♥♥♥♥ ups in some surfaces, in many if not most it actually makes the game lightning feel natural.

For me right now, how I like visually is with Raytracing at minimum, just toggled on, and then I`m looking for a enb to add a little bit of more bloom and ambient lighting correction.

If you have the computing power, then Path Tracing with Ray Reconstruction is worth it.

Yeah i don't know what the big deal about DLSS is, it just seems to make everything more blurry to me.

1. Makes Ray Tracing usuable
2. Doubles your frames. It think its a must for +100 FPS at 4k.

-RT itself looks kinda similar to original game

-RT Overdrive is a graphical masterpiece

So it does have its uses
But eh i'd rather just lower my settings and have a crisper image

RTX looks really nice in most situations, it's not like TW3 where it does improve it but has such a crazy cost and wasn't made with it in mind so rarely takes proper advantage of it

I literally cannot play the game anymore without ray tracing because of how much of a graphical difference it makes...I literally sacrifice 60 fps for it...

RT overdrive with ray reconstruction looks gorgeous but the normal ray tracing barely looks any different to me.
