I don't know why but the world still feels dead.
I want to like this game and the new update is a great one, but damn it the world still feels hollow and empty.
I know it's been compared to GTA many times and silly people say they can't be compared but that's wrong. Two open world games can be compared based on their open world game play. So what is it with this game that makes it feel like this. I can't put my finger on it. Also are their any mods to boost the feel of the open world.

I am not seeing much faction vs faction content that the devs mentioned as well.
There are mods that increases regular npc and vechicle crowds but these are mostly just for immersion, I don't think they increasse actual gang activities as these are mostly scripted events at fixed locations

I was just thinking about this as I started a new game for new 2.0 but when I got out on the street where you first go into misty's and the street was dead, the only people there waas the net runner and the crazy guy on the street and the bouncer on the door at the club. like wtf ?

yep, pretty disappointing. no matter what they do it will never be the game we were originally promised. end of story.

Started a new game for 2.0, played it at launch. So far not impressed at all. The open world is dead, the upgrades to skills are cool but the combat was never the issue ....the way I felt like I was playing a linear shooter pretending to be an RPG was the issue. And yeah, they didn't fix that.

It's the little details of GTA that you don't notice at first, but they make you think "wow..." once they happen. Cyberpunk city is a shallow experience. NPCs have minimal amount of behaviours. Traffic is mostly dysfunctional. Traffic lights are just for show. While it's true that the game lacks basic interactions, it also lacks things that happen regardless of player's input. There are "displays" of public services, like Trauma Team playing a little pantomime of helping someone on a plaza. NCPD "patrol" standing on the corner. All of them being entirely static, "pre-planned", staged.

3 years later as well, I have given up hope for it to get anywhere close to what was originally claimed.

Just do the story. Don't start roaming around in night city. Behind all the neon there is nothing. But the story and characters are good.
I would, if not for all the glitches happening during the campaign and side-quests. CDPR and a lot of fans claim that Cyberpunk is story-focused. If it is, why the campaign and side-quests have so many bugs? Just browse any patch notes released over last 3 years. Look how many bugs the story-focused game with not-so-lengthy campaign had and still has.
No, Cyberpunk has shortcomings everywhere, and sticking to the main campaign won't all of a sudden make it a flawless experience.

Yeah it really can't compare to a world made by rockstar games. But then again, it's WAY better than starfield imo.
Rockstar just has kind of ruined the immersion from even modern games.

List all the bugs and glitches you're experiencing.

I played Cyberpunk on release on PC and had one bug the whole story where I had to reload a save to fix one quest.

It's not a sandbox. The city is a set dressing for the story. Like The Witcher 3.

I thought it's unfair and not allowed to compare Cyberpunk to The Witcher 3. But you are right. CDPR made a huge mistake of designing Cyberpunk around the same logic they designed TW3 around. While learning nothing from it. Even the snap-in camera while driving a horse, with no option to disable it was copied from TW3. I find it mind-blowing that CDPR knew they want to make a game taking place in a city since at least 2011 and they did NOTHING to make it work for 5 years of TW3 development. They didn't think about it even once, even though they had a team of people whom only job for those 5 years was to make a blueprint for Cyberpunk and its mechanics. CDPR's own in-house developed engine was not rewritten to support the game they knew for over 5 years they are gonna eventually make. It is entirely bizarre.

it may be that npcs can't generally interact with you beyond screaming ahhhh once the action begins or hey if you bump into them

wtf, GTA is dead as hell compared to this. Did you even play the update more than an hour?? There are random faction wars, police chases, people roaming around, its filled with activity.
