Man why are the devs taking 3 steps back at times? Like yeah 2.0 feels great but why not add a bunch of QoL that the modding community has made like this? Sucks cause with them coming out with 2.0 I am avoiding mods since they'll be releasing 2.01 and who knows how many more patches that are on the horizon.
The wardrobe mod is a good example too, allowing you to swap around equip points for cosmetics allowing things like goggles and masks to be worn together.
Agreed. I don't like mods that change gameplay a lot, but not being able even to replace mods by destroying the old ones , as in the old game, is nonsense. Building a collection of effective weapons in the new game is hard enough without being stuck with low-tier mods in higher Tier weapons.
Wish I saw that when I was actually playing. Already finished now :(
Don't feel bad, mod already broken in 2.01 patch. I was looking to see how much of a pain to mod (as it's not built for it), and see posts saying already busted. I'm not going to bother.
I don't understand why you can't just replace them either.. another RPG element ruined in 2.0
Don't know if you're still interested, but I was curious too. Looked it up, and a couple of minutes after this timestamp is where they tell you about the changes.

would wish it could go away.
For mods, I think the idea is just that finding a Tier 5++ with two empty slots is kinda meant to represent the holy grail of weapon loot, since that'll let you freely customize it with your two favorite tier 5 mods. Even before the drop chances for mods was improved in 2.1, it was pretty easy to hit up different gun and melee stores, buying all of their tier 3 mods and just slowly upgrading dupes to tier 4 and 5.
If you could tear out mods freely you'd not really need to loot for anything besides money once you've found the first 5++ variant of your favorite gun. Iconic weapons have really cool perks, but a weapon with two T5 mods is a deadly beast in its own right. I'm still looking for both a Nue and Nekomata with those perfect rolls myself.
