Doesn't sound like what you have though. But try what I suggested see if it helps.
Another thing I would check is temps, considering it's a laptop. Unlikely, but common enough.
Is nVidia in-game overlay can be related to this?
Could be. My GPU is AMD. I presume you've updated drivers already, but if you don't use overlays may as well get rid of them.
Hearing intermittent freezing + laptop does make me want to double check temps to eliminate them as a cause.
They did greatly alter how it runs, especially on AMD, but I didn't catch the CPU you're using. I don't expect it's temps but I would rule that out from the start. I'd just run HWInfo or HWMonitor in the background. I presume only the game freezes and not the OS.

Yes, only game freeze, rest of the system is completely fine. CPU is from AMD, can't say exact model because I`m don`t have this laptop on hand rn (GPU is RTX 3060)
Agreed. If you use mods, or have ever used mods, this is almost a necessity. I've also heard deleting the configs helps some. Not sure if those are nuked or not with reinstall.
Try deleting "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077". Note this will revert all your settings, including keybinds.
Yeah, this laptop on W10, but rest of this should be fine, but I'll double check.
One thing I'd try is messing with the SMT setting. You can find that in Settings -> Gameplay -> AMD SMT.
I have that on.
I literally installed the game in night before update and then downloaded 2.0 patch.
So this should be a problem.
OK, ok.. not totally true. At times, when I jump between game focus and inventory/character screen, the world seems to 'explode' like an atomic bomb has gone off. Doesn't matter if day or night, all of a sudden, everything is blinding bright, then tapers down to normal over several seconds.
