Is Armor a thing?
Seriously - running my sword build after comming back having finished the game and it seems like 1 shot kills me outright...I could have sworn there was armor in this game but I feel like I am naked and doing something wrong.

Armor is now tied to Technical Ability and Cyberware. Clothes do nothing.

Adding onto this, I was getting my Mantis Blade build ready for PL and noticed that clothing actually doesn't have any armor on it. Was going to post a thread but Chrome here beat me to it.

Edit: Vile's comment wasn't posted when I posted mine

Clothing which is actually armour does have armour on it - although not much! I have armoured vests with +5 armour, which is nothing in comparison to the cyberware available.

Dermal plating and mitigation perks are the thing now.
Tho you might want to check things like tactical vests and some military type gear, I think a handfull of gear is still low armour now (stuff like kevlar and armour-Tee's)

What I want to know is.... Is there still a wardrobe function?
Haven't seen anyone mention it yet.

Clothing never really had much of an armour class in the tabletop, outside of said actual armour gear. So its a bit more tabletop like.

Armor was nerfed again in the 2.0 update, and is no longer dependent on clothes. You'll pretty much have to go with subdermal armor and upgrade it as high as you can.

Even doing so, the armor stat will be pretty useless against attacks.

Wardrobe is still there in V's apartment.

You can wear whatever, so there's no longer a need for a wardrobe. Armor and clothes are no longer linked.

edit:
As said above, the wardrobe is still there though.

thats actually not true. If you pick right perks and high end cyberware, armor is very much OP now even on very high

Technical attuned cyberware usually comes with armor bonuses, mitigation is divided into chance (max. 100) and strength (max 90), there are new cyberware (scarab looks really interesting) and a bunch of others that give varied bonuses to defense and health regen in one way or another.

It's all a bit fresh and I don't have an overview YET, but I think going for high tech/cool/body will be the new tank/speed/stealth build. It's a bit odd, but stealth and tanking seems to coincide now.

Armor is linked mostly to Cyberware now. Melee Builds starting out on Higher Difficulties may need to bring ALOT of Healing Items.

Not in my case, so I'll take your word for it .

Great (that the wardrobe is still a thing)
Was worried with most clothing going cosmetic that they would take it away.

Healing items and grenades are infinite with recharging... charges. You can't just spam them anymore.

Wardrobe is indeed still there (I use it in my new playthrough just out of habit), and I think clothes still have mod slots on them so if you want to deal +X% additional crit/damage, or get some other passive bonus, that's great. But it still makes no sense cause they should have just kept armor on clothing.

Clothing doesn't have much armour (SP) in the tabletop game.
Certain types of gear did. Kevlar shirts, Armour Jackets and Armour Tee items. Proper gear like anti flak jackets and true armour did.
Leather biker jackets had low stopping power, were better for stopping cutting damage than bullets
Armour was for the Friday night firefight, leather for the Saturday night scuffle.
Sunday, you picked the broken glass shards out of your fave jeans and nursed a hangover(lol)

I'm sure modders will make something work to give players options.
(Hoping for a 'Streetstyle' update, but not gona old my breath lol)
