Why'd the cops attack me?

Did an NCPD activity. No stars no civilians killed. I get back into my car and there's this NCPD car trying to ram me. Thought it was bugged or something so I drove and it was up my ass and then they started shooting at me lol. So ditched the car and now the game decides to put me in combat.

Do they just randomly instigate fights now?

jokes aside maybe a stray bullet nearly hit some civilians or cops and thats what made them go after you

Yeah idk. Funny thing is that the lore says NCPD is severely underfunded, but I'm noticing foot patrols on nearly every block

The cops are even more annoying now... I saw one get into a battle with an NPC enemy and when the NPC went down, the cop attacked _me_. I was just a bystander! And cops are far more present in this game than previously. Dunno why there's any crime in Night City 2.0 at all...SOBs are _everywhere_. Fortunately they seem to give up quickly when you run.

Every playthrough I do the same thing at the start. Go see Vik, help the police near Dex, then go talk to Dex before I run off and explore. This time, I helped them, and they attacked me. I almost went to Dex to see what happens, but I didn't want to softlock the main quest.

even if you just do a non lethal takedown in range of a cop, dont hit any civvies, dont kill anyone, and dont pull a weapon, the cops will come after you... no reason given...
