The new cyberware system is great, lot more added and you can build your body for your type of play style.
No crafting tree is nice too, everyone can craft if you have the blueprint and supplies. No need to spec into it.
Regarding the rest, yesterday I played a little, today I'm trying to see if I can see everything calmly. I've been here since day one and it's a really new game.
Really, it's just making me look forward to seeing what they've done for the expansion. There's limits to what can be changed in the base game, but some of the ideas could be really excellent when picked up by NPCs and areas designed around them. I think the 'boss' fight contrast is going to be greater than it was between TW3 and B&W. Take the Allfoods boss fight as the baseline comparison.
My personal favourite change is Stealth-Gameplay. It has more meaning by skilling it and dont need the sniper from Panam anymore, which a powerful sniper with silencer and doesnt required to skill stealth before 2.0. A pistol with silencer is by far enough and its smooth to kill the entire group without being detected.
- The police walking and chases are a nice addition, though I doubt I'll ever bother.
- The gang fights are a great addition to the world.
- The radiant quest are a great addition.
- The progression overhaul is meh and also forced.
- The perks overhaul is okay. I liked the previous more.
- The armor overhaul is both great in that we can wear whatever and meh, in that the armor rating is now pretty useless.
- Leveling up makes no sense with the new progression. Should've just capped the game at level 1 and went horizontal from the start.
- Crafting is better now.
Meh stuff:
- No places to sit.
- No drinking animations.
- No eating animations.
- Only a single minigame added with 2.0 and that was just a extra arcade game.
Overall it's merely okay. Not something that I would say would make this game a masterpiece or anything, but it is an improvement of what the game was; at least mostly.
edit:
Playing wise, it's doable. Not really fun for me since I much prefer the classic progression. I'll be waiting on a mod to re-add the old progression in some way, shape, or form.
The jury is still out on the auto-levelled enemies. I get why they implemented it but not every random gangbanger encounter needs to be some epic, "cinematic" event. Less impressed about nearly all enemies being bullet sponges.
Firing weapons consuming stamina is an absolutely asinine idea. Get that trash the f**k out of my game. I could at least understand firing heavy weapons such as an LMG or grenade launcher using stamina, but a suppressed pistol using about a quarter of my stamina bar to fire once? Complete and utter stupidity. First mod I install will be to remove that idiotic system from the game.
