Is netrunning more fun in 2.0?
I had a netrunner character pre 2.0 and it felt OP as heck. I was clearing entire engagements in seconds with no real challenge. Does 2.0 make a netrunning character more challenging?

define netrunning.
- Crafting is different.
- grindier but less random.
- Upgrades are tidier.
Puzzles and quickhacks are the same.
Endgame perks are possible(xray-ping) much earlier - if you specialize to craft them up.

If by more fun you mean completely useless and forces the player to use weapons and machine guns to survive then yes. Net running barely does anything anymore, it barely tickles the enemy.

Netrunning was the "no guns and bullet" build now that is removed it is merely the "debuff the enemy slightly before combat" build.

My style is to alternate between:
- either sneak-snap (before camo made it broken)
- or remote-cam-contagion-cyberpsycho chaos.

Only in buildings/theft would I resort to silencers.

yes

Similar results require much heavier investment and more active playstyle. IE, QH combos and Queues.

You can still clear engagements in seconds. It's just harder to do it endlessly now. My short circuit oneshots most enemies that don't resist it but I can only do this a few times in a row without either waiting for regen or dipping into overclock mode.

Basically the "killing everyone by looking at them with zero cost or danger" is limited to only a few targets at a time before you have to start planning things out or paying for it in some way.

Netrunning is useless now.

RAM costs are through the roof, significantly higher Perk requirement, cyberdecks and quickhacks are now locked behind TIers, enemies are tankier due to scaling, Trace will start immediately and no longer requires an enemy Netrunner to be present.

So yeah, it's "more of a challenge" due to the fact that you're nerfed beyond all usefulness.

Pure Netrunning is no longer a thing now, you'll either need to pair it with Smart Weapons, Monowires, or other damage sources.

You can play pure netrunner as a stealth alternative. Sonic shock causes trace to never even happen. The biggest downside is getting bored waiting on more ram.

uh..

I've been running almost a purely netrunning build, and I'm just walking into buildings and burning people's brains right from the beginning. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥' love it.

Yeah I've killed 90% of everyone with only hacks so far.

I've thrown some monowire in there now and then, but only for fun and time saving, not because it was necessary.

People are probably trying to use the ultimate hacks or something. Ultimate hacks aren't the end goal anymore. I took mine out of the deck entirely because they're just too expensive for what they do.

It makes stealth netrunning impossible. Netrunner builds have been nerfed to the point where there's just no reason to invest into it and instead just play the game like you would play call'o'dudy.

You can be a pure Netrunner but you need to also invest in Health Regen to counter act the Health Drain of Overclocking.

Overclocking will let you go hog wild and only use Hacks, but without proper Health Regen you will quickly run out of steam.

No. Nothing is fun in 2.0.
