Full guns is not more skill. You stay in cover, reload, pop out n shoot, back in cover to reload. Perks boost mitigation when in cover, basically invincible. It's braindead.
Stealth needs you to be patient, sneak pass patrols, find the time to kill solo targets to not alert entire base.
Disagree. The game in patch 1.6 does pretty well with most of the missions to do stealthily, you are forgetting about all the tools i mentioned + the quickhacks such as: Reboot Optics, Whistle, Ping, Memory Wipe, System Reset. You could also go invisible with the skin implant, Use flash grenades to deal with multiple people at once, or distract/kill people with enviroment quickhacks. Obviously some missions would force you to go loud, and then you could use the throwing knives that you probably used in stealth anyway. Going full cool perk tree was fun IMO and the leftover points could go into other trees incase you were forced to not go stealthy. Just because you never cared to do it doesent mean its the worst way to play.
Now its still viable but the patch just removed some of the cool stuff it had, with just making stealth easier due to all the "harder to detect/movement speed perks"
It's like when I started new, enemies could be killed just by shooting them with no skills or perks at all, and they're still like that in the level 30 version but I have all the perks and skills to use on them.
Jeez.. it's just my preferences. Run and gun is cool for players who like that, but the game should also reward players who simply want to outsmart the enemies. Why do you care so much about a play style you don't like?
update about the revolver, after speedrunning to craft legendary unity pistol, going FULL cool perk (For cyberware scaling and all the handgun headshot damage), going tech for additional stats + another stat for your cyberware, getting every single cyberware scaling with cool + headshot + stealth damage + GEN4 silencer AND a weapon mod increasing stealth damage by 20% and making your shots non lethal allows you to oneshot stealth people with a handgun if anyone wanted, you really have to go ALL IN min max for it to work. my pistol deals 1200dmg non crit with a headshot in stealth.
In terms of stealth netrunner, there are lots of tools to play with. Using the Bait and Request Backup can help move single targets to more ideal locations to be dealt with or give you room to get by. Sonic Shock lets you do direct damage to enemies without them being able to call for help. Memory Wipe can make an enemy not notice you for a period of time. Optical Camo cyberware can make you invisible from all enemies for a period as well. Sometimes you can use Distract Enemy on a large gas tank and when the enemy comes up to it you can make it explode. Taking the added damage perk for this can outright kill many enemies. This may or may not alert detection at all, though I have seen many cases when quickhacking through a camera where you can take out targets this way, it uses less RAM than damage quickhacks, and the enemies are not put into alert mode.
I have been for some time using Sonic Shock right into Overheat to rather easily take out single targets. It doesn't work as well on skull level targets. though is rather effective for non-skulls if your quickhack is up to level.
My thoughts are that full investments into Reflexes, Cool, and Intelligence may be ideal for stealth play. Double jump/air dash is OP. I haven't invested in play with Sandevistan yet, that may work too. I think they got rid of the sprint while carrying a body thing from the Body tree from before patch, which was quite useful, yet lethal, for stealth.
two. there are bonuses on the cybernetics that improve headshot damage, stealth damage etc.
three there are perks that do the same.
i started a new character (at the 2.0 patch) and at level 30 i can 1-shot any non-skull (or whatever that indicator is for the beefed up mobs). Those i have to combo with quickhack and headshot.
