The Rescue Bug

I cannot progress past the initial The Rescue mission. Jackie freezes up and does not drive is anyone else having this issue?

Dude yeah. No matter what I do he won’t drive the feckin car. I was unable to hack the first door, it wouldn’t let me execute and I tried reinstalling some files which worked. But nothing works to make Jackie drive so far. After the trauma team picks up Sandra, Jackie keeps holding invisible pistols and walks through a few props so maybe it’s just bugged to hell

Same issue here. Tried everything. Replayed that same elevator scene so many times. No matter what I do he just sits there in the driver seat not moving. The mission still says to get in the passenger seat even if I'm in the car already.

Have you tried checking your control scheme? I saw someone say changing from 'alternative' to 'classic' helped them.

Also, did any of you used to use mods? Did a clean install/ uninstalled via Vortex/ removed your mods manually?
You need to disable mods on the CDPR launcher aswell as removing them via vortex (if you use that to install from the Nexus)

If all that was done and still the issues persist...did you try Cyberclean?

Its a bat file to remove any left over files from mods that might be still about.

Fixed mine but not in the best way.

I definitely used to use mods and had already done everything to remove them including using cyberclean and a fresh install with mods disabled. Still wasn't working.

What worked for me was turning off my cloud sync for the game, deleting all of my old save files, and restarting fresh again. Finally didn't have the bug. I'm assuming my old mods corrupted an old save which was somehow spaghetti code corrupting anything new I did. It came at the cost of losing all of my old save files but now I can at least play the game again.
