Items not appearing in inventory.

New game, just starting out. Got in a fight with some rats in the tunnel right after talking with Dex. Then went around looting them. Got like 7-8 weapons. But I only have 4 in inventory. Where the heck did the rest go? I know I picked up 3 power pistols, 2 SMG's, 2 shotguns, and a rifle. All I got is a Shotgun, and two SMG's. The last weapon is the pistol I got from the shop guy. So ... 5 out 8 just vanished upon pickup.

I just found this out a bit after I posted this but yeah. Dropped weapons are now mostly broken and therefore are turned into scrap. I would like this better if the weapons looked obviously broken. Instead it becomes an irritating letdown to see a weapon and then notice the small pop-up stating it is broken.

Man, I don't remember this feature being mentioned in the update, but it was probably considered minor and not directly mentioned up front. It's probably listed somewhere in the bottom or something in the massive stack of changes.

This was unfortunately very confusing and very much seemed like a bug at first. Instead it was a "feature" that ... kills your loot. ... yay.

the looting system needs a little more clarification or better notifications, flashing for a split second in tiny letters in the far corner is not enough time to figure out what ive looted. I dunno, but this whole time ive thought the game was just bugging out on my loot. Unfortunate. Also, things are color coordinated wrong, i just looted an orange iconic weapon it looked like, after searching for a while i found it was a green crafting item...it can just be confusing at times...

This has happened to me with stuff found in loot crates, not off enemies. I found a nice grenade, grabbed it and it's not there. Just gone.

yep i thought i was seeing things, but i just double checked with a save. blue power shotgun T3 in a chest, massive upgrade for me. press F to take. get the pop up in UI, item has been picked up... but then nothing in inventory....

Why would all four weapons collected all be damaged to the point of needing to be scrapped. Oh well.

I noticed it after looting legendary as well. Even double checked with reload save, still legendary is gone after looting form body.

Legendary isn't a thing any more. That said, all iconics and iconic crafting specs are shown with the orange tier 5 icon, regardless of the actual tier you pick them up. Check your crafting recipes.

This is incredibly annoying. Almost everything is broken. I keep getting tutorials for weapons I pick up, but they're not in my inventory. As a new player, the way it is now, the game just feels broken. Is there a mod so that nothing drops broken?

Then is was a crafting recipe not the actual item.

Then you are buying crafting schematics. If it has lines through the item in the shop then it is a crafting schematic not the actual item.

I agree it could be better communicated, but I actually like the changes to weapon drops overall. It's not a randomized prefix looter-shooter anymore, so you don't really need to worry about pouring over every gun that drops in detail and comparing their stats. The overwhelming majority of M-10AFs or whatever that you pick up is identical to every other M-10AF at a given item tier. Every now and then you come across one that's been modded or skinned, but those are easy to identify in your inventory. it feels more "real" to me.
