Best raytracing settings? For RTX 3070
Trying to work out the best performance for quality ratio with raytracing settings on a 3070. Initially I tried it with RT reflections on with local shadows and sun shadows off but an article online from today recommends having reflections off with the two shadow settings on instead. What do you other 3070 users have for your settings?

off
i`am turn off RTX and another setting is full ultra and stable 70+ fps). Or you can use only RTX refraction and get 60+- stable fps.

Not sure if the 2.0 update makes this an issue, but this is what I would use on a 3070:

Vsync 60
Nvidia Reflex ON
RT Ultra preset
DLSS Quality (1080p) | Balanced (1440p)

Whatever article you read recommends turning reflections off because they hit performance a lot harder than shadows, not because it's not a nice effect. Cyberpunk's screen space reflections look absolutely horrific in my opinion, so RT reflections are a non-negotiable for me in this particular game.

I'm on an RX 7900 XT, so same ballpark as you for RT capability. I'm on 1440p and in my opinion, the following yields the least compromised image quality with max frame rate:

DRS OFF
<your upscaler of choice (DLSS preferred)> Quality or Balanced
Upscaler Image Sharpening 0.85 (tune to taste)
FOV 100
Film Grain OFF
Chromatic Aberration OFF
Depth of Field ON
Lens Flare ON
Motion Blur HIGH or OFF (preference)
Contact Shadows ON
Improved Facial Lighting Geometry ON
Anisotropy 16
Local Shadow Mesh Quality HIGH
Local Shadow Quality MEDIUM
Cascaded Shadows Range HIGH
Cascaded Shadows Resolution HIGH
Distant Shadows Resolution HIGH
Volumetric Fog Resolution HIGH
Volumetric Cloud Quality MEDIUM
Max Dynamic Decals ULTRA
Screen Space Reflections Quality OFF (important - removes a lot of image grain)
Subsurface Scattering Quality HIGH
Ambient Occlusion MEDIUM
Color Precision HIGH
Mirror Quality HIGH
LOD HIGH
Ray Tracing ON
Ray-Traced Reflections ON
Ray-Traced Sun Shadows OFF
Ray-Traced Local Shadows OFF
Ray-Traced Lighting MEDIUM
Path-Tracing (Technology Preview) OFF
Path Tracing in Photo Mode ON

I used to play this way but the game just looks too nice for me to wanna turn it off for 2.0 and it is better optimised more now but I get just above 60 too with it on and DLSS.

Nah I don't like playing with Vsync on I seem to get less fps with that plus I get no screen tearing thanks to G-Sync. I'm already at 1440p I should say natively. Don't think I can run RT on ultra lol

Thanks for this response. Yeah i certainly noticed about 5 more fps with shadows on and reflections off than the opposite. It's hard because I also really like the reflections but some areas can make it go down to 55 fps from all the puddles so it's tricky. But with the shadows off I notice a lot more shadow pop in on things like vending machines in hallways early on. I'm also on 1440p. I didn't know about turning off SS reflections etc I'll try those settings and see how it improves things.

Kinda decided to just leave RT off with everything else on ultra lol it ran at about 65 fps most of the time but going into the bar to meet Evelyn made it drop to 30-40fps.

Raytraced Sun shadows at least is not worth it bugs out constantly for me especially the player shadow i had 2 at times 1 without a head looks weird as ♥♥♥♥, i also barely see any difference anywhere.
Local shadows on the other hand are pretty great.

I had a feeling they would be! I was actually curious what happens if we turn on raytracing in settings but have raytraced lighting set to off with raytraced shadows on?

I'm on a 3060Ti and using RTX with no reflections nor lighting. Everything else on and on max settings everywhere else (minus volumetrics on high and SS reflections on high) - most of the time I'm getting upwards of 70fps. Lowest is around 50. But mostly 70-100.

1440p using DLSS Balanced.

Actually if you have Gsync on, V sync should also be on. There's a great video about it by Battle(non)sense on YT. Also use a frame limiter (NVCP or RTSS). I limit my FPS to 110 on a 120hz monitor.

Umm what? Are you running native with no DLSS? Because on ultra with no RTX on (oh I forgot I turn Screen Space reflections to high) and volumetrics on high, at 1440p with DLSS I get 90+fps on a 3060TI, so something doesn't seem right here. Unless you're running native. Which you shouldn't DLSS quality will almost double your FPS with the same image quality.

I get about 80fps on mine with those settings but I keep Vsync off with Gysnc on. Turning Vsync on only makes me lose frames so why would I want it on?

Of course I'm using DLSS. A lot of other people have also reported that Lizzies bar with RT reflections on makes everyones performance tank. You have RTX off thats why lol.

I saw this post earlier today that mentions how to enable Ray Reconstruction using regular Ray Tracing instead of the Path Tracing and they claim they saw decent fps boosts on a 30 series card so it might be something to try.
