High CPU temp with 2,0 update
I'm aware requirements changed. I exceed them, with an i7-13700KF and a Radeon 6800 XT.

Just wondering what other people's experience has been so far today. I played nearly an hour but stopped, fearful about the high CPU temp

Noticed an increase as well. From around 50c at all times, CPU is reaching 60c in some areas. Usage is pretty much always at 100%.

7800X3D here w/ a 280mm push/pull AIO, played through to end of first mission after prologue on a new V after update & ran benchmarks of all pertinent settings for me & maxed out at 68C so far w/ no noticeable increase in fan or pump speed/noise.

Seems to be about a degree hotter than 1.63 max for me & still well within "safe" range w/o turning my box into a vacuum cleaner/jet engine sonically so far. Hopefully that holds up when things get more complicated.

Nowadays CPU temp limits are high, just check for your CPU. And it's normal, because now the game uses all cores.

what do you mean by high CPU temp? How hot is it getting that you are that worried?

Not too bad here but my cooler is kinda overkill for my cpu, still a cpu can run really hot temps but anything above 80 isn't adviseable for the long term

Don't be worried about high CPU temps with the 13000 series they are designed to run closer to the max thermal limit for maximum performance it's same with the newer AMD 7000 series.

Not like the old days apparently now at least for the newer gen CPU's 80-90*c is perfectly fine and no need to worry... lol.

Definitely this ^^^

Max "safe" temp for my 7800X3D should be in the low 90s & IIRC was high 80s for the 10900K it replaced.

Better cooling? Lol

I adjusted some graphics and it seems to be normal now.
It was reaching 100 degrees C.

I was also reaching 100 degrees eventually on all cores on my i9 13900k while playing. I have a lian li galahad 360 AIO, 3 front intake fans, 1 rear exhaust fan, in a Meshify C case which generally seems to be considered to have good airflow. I also cleaned everything recently, and still got very high cpu temps.

I was able to fix my temps by adjusting my PL1 and PL2 power limit (Turbo Boost Short Power Max and Turbo Boost Power Max in the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility). Right now I have both set to 90W. My temps aren't going above 75 now and I'm still getting the performance I want with the settings I want.
