4080, 4k res, DLSS perfomance + fg
Just got to Lizzie's for BD check, Judy's face is a nightmare.
I don't get it. RR was advertised as a tool reducing ghosting, smearing. I even tested that example they showed on demos with a car and ofc. not only mirrors but entire car leaves this smudgy trail behind with RR on. I tried every possible setting, DLLS Quality/Perf. FG does not matter. No issues with Ray Tracing. Ghosting starts with Path Tracing for me and is further amplified by RR. I play at 3440 x 1440p on 4090.
At the moment Path Tracing is a huge tradeoff - it makes the lighting and reflections look incredible but the visual clarity of the game takes a massive hit. I waited a whole year to start a new playthrough with these new graphics options but I guess I'll be waiting a few more weeks or month longer until the ghosting issue is (hopefully) fixed.
I have not tested the reducing of the sharpening thing someone here mentioned will do that later..
I did experience slight changes in image quality itself tho by turning Frame Generation off but with a big FPS hit as well, even tho the description of frame generation says there would be no change, when turning it on...interesting.
Im running a 4090, I9 13900k, 64gb ram, nvme 990 pro
maxed settings, dlss on quality + Pathtracing + RR on 1440p im mostly around 90-100 FPS in citys without FG and 143 FPS with FG (because limited and gsync) without limit i would go higher obviously.
The smearing is nothing you can reduce unless turning Pathtracing+RR off, i literally tested most possible setting combinations and nothing worked, the only thing i did not test was reducing that sharpening thing, maybe thats the key.
BTW i had the same thread created few days ago and was told to use DSR feature from NV to upscale to 4k because dlss-quality on 1440p downscales to 960?p and then upscales with AI back to 1440p which reduces the quality but gives you more FPS, and with a 4090 and my specs i could do way more, so i tried it but there was no visual change at all with dsr, so in case you thought about it, dont waste your time. Apparently Pathtracing+RR does not smear that much on a native 4k monitor (says google) but i cant test it myself since i have no 4k Monitor
http://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/9276?tab=description
it removes the vignette effect (darkening) and the sharpening (not dlss sharpening) with that the ghosting/smearing isnt as bad anymore as it is without the mod..(its still there but less)
important is to install the mixture of both (there is a file for both or just each on their own) just sharpening or just vignette wont help, i tested it, with the mod i gained about 5-10fps
basically i run everything maxed + dlss:quality + pathtracing + rr + dlss sharpening on 0.55
1440p native resolution
i disabled:
1.FrameGeneration (without i get better image quality somehow) be warned you will have significantly less FPS
2.MotionBlur
3.Depth of Field
4.Chromatic Aberration
4090, i9 13900k, 64gb 6000mhz ram, nvme 990pro 2tb
FPS with mod and without FrameGeneration mostly around 95-105
FPS without mod and without FrameGeneration mostly around 90-100
FPS with+without mod and with FrameGeneration above 143 (i have limiter)
My NVCP Setting are Default.
There are instructions everywhere. Drop the NX DLL file thingy into your BIN game folder.
If I put the RR on, I've a lot of ghosting and the people face are like stained. With distant characters, the eyes split, when they are close the skin becomes too wrinkled. Some glass details are represented incorrectly.
To reduce the problem, I play with all Ultra, PT on, DLLS Quality, FG on, RR off.
The incredible thing is that CDProject has worked shoulder to shoulder with NVIDIA, but the best results with this new technology, they are having with games like Alan Wake 2 and Starfield.
I hope for a patch soon!
its not something cdpr can patch by themself..its more work for nvidia to do than cdpr...
the reason those problems with pt+rr look so obvious in cyberpunk is because cyberpunk uses lights and neons and dark areas and reflections and all that stuff so much more...alan wake is nothing compared to this beast..im talking mainly about how this technology works not how good the game is. Maybe you should read up on what pt and rr actually does
