Can't use DLSS 3.5 unless you are in RT - Overdrive? What's the point for non 40x cards?
As an owner of a 3080 I was looking forward to DLSS 3.5 and its ability to enhance Performance and Quality by allowing Ray Reconstruction for "All GeForce RTX GPUs"....however we can't enable it unless we are in Ray Tracing Overdrive mode, which Runs at 18 FPS on my 3440x1440 monitor. Sure I now get 30 FPS if I enable Ray Reconstruction... but this isn't playable. Why can't we enable Ray Reconstruction outside of Overdrive mode??? Anyone else experiencing this?

Guess I am going back to Ray Tracing Medium to with some tweaked settings to get ~75 FPS

It seems at the moment you can only use the new graphical bells a whistles in overdrive mode. But on that they have said, they are working on adding in extra RT modes.
It's because nVidia wants to sell you 40xx series graphics card. Allegedly they are "working with CDPR" to bring 3.5 to not be limited to Path Tracing. But that's to bee seen. As RTX3080 owner, I am not falling for it and I won't buy an overpriced GPU for the sake of one game, when in a few years I can buy a superior GPU that will run every game better. I am a patient one, I have time.

It's CDPROJEKT choice.
They will put it for standard RT later (it's in the FAQ on the site)
I just found that out as well and double checked if I misunderstood Nvidias marketing, which wouldn't be surprising considering how much effort they put in misleading and tricking their customers, but no, it's supposed to be available on all RTX GPU's.
But in CP2077 Ray Reconstruction is not available unless FG is activated which makes no sense at all since it effectively restricts it to current gen cards.
Two minutes in and I'm already getting mad at CDPR again.

You can run the RT Overdrive mode on RTX 30 series cards too. Use DLSS Quality/Balanced.
LMFAO!! According to Hardware Unboxed, playing on Ultra + Path Tracing + DLSS quality at 1440p will give you astonishing performance improvement of 2 frames per second for RTX3080!! xD

Previously you got 37fps, now with DLSS 3.5 you get 39fps

Way to go!!

Have you ever even tried Path Tracing on a 30 series card? Even on a 40 series card you need Frame Generation unless you have 4090 or a 4080 at lower resolution.
Who knew you had to buy a NEW card to play with the NEW technology.... crazy right?

And yet it will look MUCH better now as well as getting 2fps more...
Woudnt bother anyway, even my 4080 cant run it with overdrive , unless u decide to goto 1080P . Also the new nvidia driver makes it run about 5-10frames slower for some weird reason

DLSS 3.5 wasn't supposed to increase performance in the first place.
It's mostly a side effect of Ray Reconstruction replacing a couple of filters which ended up in a miniscule performance increase.
In other games it might not increase at all or even go down slightly.

I confirm that Ray Tracing Reconstruction works only if Path Tracing enabled. Marketing was very dishonest “all the rtx series”, yes Nvidia 20fps 😂 . The curisious thing, I checked the DLL, it's still 3.1.1, I could try with 3.5 tech powerup and see if anything changes.

Edit: Guys Nvidia released right now New Drivers, maybe this will work !

How can they know that? DLSS 3.5 in this game doesn't work with cards below the 40 series. Ray Reconstruction is grayed out if Frame Gen is disabled.
where even is the setting for it? So, idk but I have a graphics setting labeled <NOT LOCALIZED>UI-Settings-Video-Advanced-DLSS_D lmao is that it? it's a new entry in the list, it is only toggleable when i turn on path tracing tech preview. but hell if im supposed to know what that mess of a setting name means. I'm on GoG version just updated
