Make sure you're using DLSS 3.5 and not 3.1 that comes with the game
Just something to remind everyone to download the dlss swapper, make sure that dlss3.5 is downloaded and replacing the current 3.1.1 that comes standard with the game itself.
people playing with path tracing and ray reconstruction absolutely need to do this to reduce ghosting and smearing by a lot. quick tip.

nvngx_dlssd.dll (pathtracing/rayreconstruction) is ALREADY 3.5

yes you can swap dlss/dlssg 3.1 to 3.5 for clearer DLSS in raytracing or rasterization. But dlssd for pathtracing is already 3.5

Don't download it, DLSS 3.5 is experimental and only for path tracing because of ray reconstruction, dlss 3.5 may give you less performance.

DLSS 3.5 is already in game but works only with path tracing, I wonder why? because its saying "Technology preview" so you use DLSS 3.5 swap on your own risk.

OP is talking about DLSS Super Resolution, not RayReconstruction (aka DLSS 3.5).

The DLSS Super Resolution currently shipped with the game is 3.1.1.0 version while the most recent one that fixes a lot of ghosting and shimmering issues and makes the game much clearer is 3.5.0.0., available on the TechPowerUp website.

It performs and looks astonishing.

Doesn't that just happen when you install the nvidia driver from geforce..?

Unfortunately no, the player has to replace them manually themself. I believe Nvidia commented on why they can't provide updated DLSS versions through driver updates a few months ago.

No, these DLSS dlls come with the games. They're not installed by the NVIDIA driver installer but distributed by the devs with game patches. So different games might have different versions. You can just download these from TechPowerUp and just replace these files yourself, no need for any mods or additional software.

wait so no one is using dlss 3.5 unless they manually updated this files?
Does Ray Reconstruction work on 3k series cards or is this a 4k thing like frame gen. it's different than path tracing right?

seems weird, why wouldnt 3.5 files be included in the patch files?

ray reconstruction works on 2000, 3000, 4000 series but you have to use path tracing to enable it and it has 3.5 dlss builded

if you don't use path tracing then you use DLSS 3.1 not 3.5 if im correct
oh you need path tracing on for it to work gotcha....does it make path tracing less demanding because i barely maintain fps with that on 3080 oc edition 12gb vram

Yes, the game is using DLSS 3.1.1.0, but the DLSS 3.5.0.0 is the newest version and a great improvement overall. Keep in mind this is DLSS Super Resolution (AI upscaler that gives FPS), not Ray Reconstruction.

Nvidia simply sucks at naming their technology and ends up confusing people.

Ray Reconstruction currently works for all GPUs, but officially it's supported only for Pathtracing for now. Nvidia is working on making it available to Raytracing as well, so it will come in a future update.

if it only works with path tracing and they say yiou need a3090ti to utilize that then 3.5 isnt much use.

i just tested path tracing and RR out and was able to keep 60 fps but things looked weird and blurry, not implmented well enough? (dlss balanced)

idk doesnt seem like it's worth it? Game has too mnauy graphics options lmao

3090 is required for 30fps and rtx 4070 for 60fps I think, it says in options on right side when you switch to path tracing
sitting at 55 fps with Path and RR on with a 3080 OC edition, havent adjusted dlss for more frames...it's definetly doable with auto or performance dlss but i dont think it's going to work well in DogTown.

Honestly game looks GG enough with all max/psycho settings.
Can't decide if i like HDR or not either

Yeah, it's currently bugged and not working properly, even with the intended Pathtracing. But once it works properly it's going to be awesome as it will make ray-tracing/path-tracing look fantastic and also even improve FPS slightly while using them.

Hmm ok, thought it looked worse. I'll come back to Path when they improve it...or i upgrade to a 4k series card. Prob wont though, Feels dumb to do my 3080 is like a year old and was $$$.
