What's the point of iconic quick hacks?

They are literally not, though. Try reading them again, but with better reading comprehension. For one example off the top of my head, iconic Call Backup will call over 5 enemies instead 4 when combo'd with Bait.

I never used contagion do they also act same? It might just be description being wrong.

Because iconics i am using has mostly longer durations on the description.

at least check the images out before you reply. in OP's case, there is no difference between iconic and non iconic contagion. Wich must be a bug.

BTW i have seen same problems with armor cyberware. where the better tier gave less armor, but when i bought it and equipped it, the "bug" were corrected and the better tier gave more armor than listed in shop. So it must be some bonus stats applied from your build or other gear, and it's not visible before equipping. So for the armor case, it were most likely a minor bug, not influencing the end result.

Yeah, when I read the description of others afterwards I saw they are different. But I read Contagion first and I was confused.

As far as I know - both Contagion and Overheat have the same descriptions. But that may be just a mistake in the description itself, because I also found Suicide, and description says that it cost 110 ram or something like that, but that's not true.
The rest of iconic quickhacks are better tho.
I say - 0.01 patch broke much more things then it fixed.

Literally nothing you said OP was true. Iconic quicks DO have lower cost in many cases. Iconic quickhacks DO have higher values. For example cyber ware malfunction does a 5% stacking debuff for the regular one and a 15% stacking debuff for the iconic one. Synapse burnout gets like an extra 100% damage bonus or maybe it's 200%. Can't remember off the top of my head. Lots have additional effects. I dunno man. maybe just try reading them next time.

yea all looks the same to me - and i've not found the iconic version. have the tier 5 normal.

just a wild guess - but maybe you ran across the iconic first? got it earlier? though that would seem odd as you'd still need the 'deck to equ/run it.

side note - that has become one of my fave hacks. - hack a cam, switch cams around and upload it to any group.. - run away. - come back and repeat. trying to level nethacker, so wanted as many "kills" using hacks as i could ;) (its almost as much fun as just running in and fisting everyone to death.)
