Lets say there can be ways and decisions where its good to have some contacts in NC and around.
And you have those friends by finishing "their" questlines / main missions like Panam or Judy for example. Or at least made already significant progress in their questlines.
So i would consider the next time playing PL to get me some nice friends before i jump into Dogtown.
Then stop before party.
Do side missions around city like for Lizzie etc
Then go to party.
Overall 2 DLC endings out of 4 give 1 new main story ending. So you finish DLC story before Hanako ofc.
Minor never ending quests like "take this and bring this to me" take you pretty much all over NC and Dogtown but I can't tell you nothing more, unless you are willing to see a minor spoilers.
And there is a one gig that takes you outside of Dogtown but that's it I think. I might be mistaken, I can't remember all of the new quests but I think I'm right
I will say the new final game ending is a richer experience if you have all of the potential main game contacts and a good relationship with Johnny.
