then after the heist I go to pacifica and farm there all skills to level 35 for an extra 5 perk points each...
by then im pretty much over level 20 and the rewards and such are much higher as you level up.... so I hold off on doing NCPD and Gigs till they get more valuable.... think at level 20 the gigs in watson give 1k experience...
my latest game I went a little more crazy and kinda did all that plus managed to get myself a tier 5 cyberdeck.... was level 26 by time I started doing side missions...
doing it that way its like... before when I completed all NCPD and Gigs in watson i'd be around or close to level 20.... doing way I do now im in the mid 30's by time I clear watson of NCPD and gigs...
I wonder if they ever even thought of any players doing that tbh. Just grinding the hell outta the game before it actually opens up
probably.... I mean not much different than clearing all missions before the prologue.... except in the case of skills its a good way to see how all the different styles are like.... I kinda like it.... I mean you get more of a feel of what type of gameplay suits you moreso... plus while im leveling skills im picking up loot to break down and am able to focus on my cyberdeck since thats what I aim for... otherwise i'd never touch melee and such without the perks tied to em...
story wise I think it can make sense.... I mean not the whole looping part where enemies respawn really... but just grinding skills instead of NCPD and gigs.... you already got a job to do with Dex lined up and working with another fixer while you working with another one that is supposed to be bigger deal.... doing a little cardio and "training" after watching the BD and knowing how big the target is and dealing with crazy Maelstrom gang... seems to make more sense than going out of your way around doing other jobs....
yeah... with the new level scaling though i think its worth saving em for when your higher level to be honest.... I mean I tried it both ways when 2.0 first dropped... doing all side missions like I did normally before meeting malestrom and calling Stout.... all NCPD and 23 gigs from Regina certainly does give decent XP.... but its xp based off of low level and gear and money is low level.... as well as access points for quickhacks..... you'd be stocking up on low level stuff... tier 1's and tier 2's....
but with level scaling and taking the missions later on they just give WAY more.... im about level 28 now doing NCPD first before gigs and they give so much more in terms of rarity drops, access points....
plus the early levels are the easiest to level... grinding skills alone to level 15 can net you close to 10.... if you just did up to the client first at least.... allowing you to be level 6 by time that finishes... get practically 4 levels while grinding skills and get 5 extra perk points.... gigs at that low level I think I was seeing it pop off at like 299 or 399 xp for completion.... compared to after hitting at least level 20 those same gigs were worth 1000 xp per gig... which means your getting almost triple the xp value saving em up for later on... with Regina having 23 gigs 1000xp each.... thats a lot of xp.... 23,000 actually.... compared to if your doing em for lets say 299 each... which would be 6,877 xp before level 20.... that means you'd be missing out on 16,123 experience doing them early...
Yeah, a lot of people do it.
(or at the very leastwise, somewhat ill-informed)
