Sell crafting components?
see lots of posts about where to get certain crafting components , nothing about where I could SELL my tons of useless tier 1 crafting components. i see no way to sell them at junk shops, the sell your stuff machines or anywhere else.
am I missing something on the interface or is it not possible to sell crafting components?

Why would you want to sell tier 1 crafting components? You use them to craft ammo, but most of all, to craft tier 2 components - and so on, up to tier 5. And use them to upgrade cyberware. And level up Engineer in the process.

I consider T1 crafting components the most precious things you find. You can turn them into T2, but I have not found a way to turn T2 into T1. Which means if you get ahold of new gear that is good but low grade, you're gonna need a bunch of T1 to upgrade it. Precious, precious, precious. Cyberware upgrade is expensive too, and critical for decks.

??? wtf are you talking about the best weapons you always find only the uniques are worth upgrading and they are mostly just shucked into the stash to pat the wall of weapons the best weapons if you have the dlc are in the airdrops anyway.

Only the iconic can be upgraded regardless. Can't upgrade anything else. That aside you need the components to upgrade your implants.

you can turn 5 tier 1 into 1 tier 2.... and then turn 5 tier 2 into 1 tier 3..... ect.... you automatically know those recipes to upgrade the components to a higher tier....

it might not seem like much but I like to farm early on to upgrade my tier 1 cyberdeck to tier 3 ASAP..... like by level 10.... which normally by level 20 you'd see tier 3 cyberdecks at ripperdocs...

and after the heist I like to just upgrade all my components so that I can reach tier 5 with cyberdeck before level 30..... which normally would be around level 40 for tier 5 at a ripperdoc...

Yeah, but they made iconics the only thing really WORTH upgrading weapon wise.. kind of a waste for anything else since it will never be able to be upgraded as high as an iconic weapon. Great design I guess?

well, i've just been running around like a casual having fun doing all kinds of gigs, side quests, NCPD, etc., only loosely following the story. am ready to meet Takemura at beginning of Act 2 but am street cred 50, level 37 just from messing around and have a couple of Tier 5+ weapons, Tier 4 deck and some nice quick hacks, so didn't realize crafting was that important, thought it was just an option for those who liked it.

but as Soul says, i can turn the components into higher tiers, etc., must have missed that
in the tutorial, lol. i'll try this, but, since i haven't been doing any crafting, is there additionally going to be something in particular i'll need to be able to craft to help me progress in the story later, that i should save components for?

(but still curious if there's somewhere to sell components if i wanted to, haha)

why sell them they worth nothing anyway. if you have no use for them just upgrade to green, upgrade to blue, upgrade to purple upgrade to orange!
all mats gone :D

Basically, since there’s lot of money in the game, you can buy tier 5 cyberware after lvl 40, and then use tier 5 components to upgrade it to 5+ and 5++. Same for Legendary weapons. When I realized that money won’t be a problem (I ended up with ~3.5m after 100% base game with all houses and available cars bought) I started to disassemble looted weapons instead of selling them. It still wasn’t enough to upgrade all the cyberware and not even close to upgrade all Legendary weapons. So really no point in selling the components, tier 5 are hard to get enough for everything. Besides crafting increases your tech skills for free.

T1 components can be turned into ammo, or 625 of them can be melted into 1 legendary part. Take your pick. They are fairly difficult to collect later on, so upgrade low level iconics before burning the rest.

well, yes, you guys have shown me the value of upgrading them. you're right.
i'm just curious if it's possible as far as game mechanics work, and if maybe there's something else basic i should know that i didn't. but i've learned the error of my ways, lol.

Yeah, that is something that should be described in those manuals “10 best tips for beginners”. Also you can use tier 1 components to craft ammo. Also youʼll be able to create some Legendary weapons. And don’t forget that there are also quickhack components, that are used for quickhacks crafting. If you don’t skip Breach protocol, you’ll end up with hundreds of those components, and then you just craft quickhacks and sell them. They are very expensive, especially ultimate ones.
