Is there a mod that opens up the world and removes the main story?

My main gripe with this game has always been, that they created this cool open city will all of these things to do, and then wrote a story that forces you to skip all of it because you're on a death clock.

Any mods that remove all that and just let you be a runner?

This will never happen.

I mean the main quest is essentially a pointless side quest. Side because it's about 10% of the sum total of the content in the game, and pointless because your story ends with no opportunity to continue it no matter what you do.

I mean, a mod like that was made for skyrim. I think a couple other open world games got similar mods.

Yes, there used to be a mod that let you get out of Watson without following the story. I don't know if it works for 2.0, though. It should be pretty easy to find, did you look?

Then you got the wrong game. You can't cut out the main character from the game and expect that all quests and activities functioning without him.
But you can just play it as an Edgerunner. I play my Lucy Build since 8 Days without a problem. You're not playing Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns. You can take all the time you want. Or drop the game if you're annoyed by it.

All you do is the heist to open up all the city, one line of text says there is a limit and how can Vic know how long it will be, all he can do is guesstimate. I always skip it but I was sure he says it's a guess. The main questline can just be avoided easily, all the way up to going to embers.
