If anything I'd like to see different hubs. I'd even like to see them keep Night City mostly as it is but branch out with new cities the story brings you do like different acts lead to Japan, mainland Europe and even China or Russia where you'd spend a couple dozen hours there. I'd say that's much more likely and obtainable, just give Night City a fresh lick of paint.
Also, oddly enough, I'm pretty sure in the early days of development Night City was supposed to be the last surviving city after the unification wars and where the New USA Goverment was setup; everything outside of NC was supposed to be a wasteland. Maybe someone can correct me here but I'm talking about way back when from years before we knew much of anything about the game.
There has been so much work into the design of this city. I believe it would be a waste to not iterate on it. It's the only game where I never skip traveling. It's just a pleasure to drive in this setting (despite the cars driving like soap). I would love to return to a next gen version of it.
Heck, give us a real party of variing sizes and e.g. give us the possiblity to ride as a small team on one bike / using the vehicles as part of the planning to get to the missions / introduce the team driving vehicles (as a choice of the player - either drive or be driven).
tl;dr Night City has still a lot to offer - but I wouldn't mind a peak into space.
