Tldr: that's how it is with story heavy games, doesn't mean it's bad.
The game is very repetitive. Act 1 was amazing for world building and story. Great introduction and showing, not telling in how the world works.
Then it was gig after gig where it was always 'go to place, kill everyone, retrieve data/item/person'. Side missions where the same.
All builds were combat. No talking/charisma builds. No real stealth builds (if you don't defeat people and sneak past to the objective you lose xp). Netrunning is combat based around hacking devices and magic spells that kill people. Not hacking the network to get information to blackmail a client, or doing a T-Bug style overwatch from the hotel mission. I get the devs had to do it this way to accomodate all play styles, but the game is more clearly action and less rpg.
I used to love stealth builds in games like Deus Ex, or even the old Thief. This game isn't that. This game is Choose Your Own Combat Style.
I enjoyed the game and it's worth it at half price. Game is long with a lot of content. But the open world is really copy paste and it gets boring. I hope they fix this in the sequel.
This is due to flawed expections instead of the gameplay.
Reasoning i get bored with it:
1: The world.
If you arent into cyberpunk lore then the world just looks like a cyborg version of your avarage gta city.
A lot of walking characters and driving cars.
With no reason to care for any of it.
In saint row serries you take over territory.
Project zombiod people challange themselves to killing off every zombie(By turning zombie respawn off)
In skyrim every npc is unique(Cities are tiny tho)
I am not saying it is bad.
I just cannot find a reason to care about the city.
2: You are playing V.
I much rather play as myself then as a premaid character.
What is worse is that regardless of background V is a loudmouth hediones with very limit vulcabilery or reasoning skill.
Still he is too smart to be an idiot protaganess but only barely.
3: The gameplay.
I reduce difficulty to easy as bullet spongest make for boring combat.
A lot of the fun stuff is hidden at high level.
It is like D&D.
Start as a fighter.
Respect as wizard.
Otherwise you are going to suffer early game.
4: The story is basicly: Nothing you do matters.
Your going to die.
So all the effort is for nothing.
5: Jhonney i am a terrorist silverhand.
We are suppose to root for him?
Why would anyone root for a mass murdering jackass who doesnt understand basic economics.(Aka how bussiness work)
Like the romance with Panam, the only way to get along is to be their b1tch and agree with them.
The new Call of Duty is almost out...
