I would like to note that most bosses (unless forced into combat) can be snuck up on and killed/incapacitated as well, but if you're like me and don't play heavy stealth, that might not be viable.
1. You have Adam Smasher who gets deleted in seconds. So people get mad saying hes too easy and they want a challenge.
2. You have Hansen where you actually have to kinda try and people get mad saying he's too hard and want him to be like every other trash mob in the game.
You cant please anybody.
Just mentioning a name now and then is not character development.
The people that make this stuff don't play it.
They had to check that box off I guess.
DX games have often taken an interesting approach. e.g. DX:MD actually does have a 'killswitch' trigger that does what it sounds like for the final boss, so that encounter can be over in moments if you've prepared.
Makes sense.. now that they have level-scaling though, levels don't mean much in the game when it comes to preparation (in terms of leveling to be equal or above an area, which is a CORE RPG mechanic..) means nothing, only gear does.
