CHROME COMPRESSOR RUINS YOUR SAVE

Apparently if you equip a chrome compressor at a ripper doc you cant equip an OS EVER! Using a chrome compressor effectively ruins your game, no more Sandevistan, Berserker or Cyberdeck. Oh and if you thought to yourself "why dont I just unequip the chrome compressor" HAHAHAHAH you would think these people would've implemented that into the game? WRONG. Youre stuck with your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ chrome compressor until the heat death of the universe. That ♥♥♥♥ is grafted on to your DNA once you decide to equip it. Its as if this a grift in the ingame universe for people dumb enough to equip one. Honestly its pathetic at this point, CDPR just hire people to play test your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games before releasing them, how about that?

Did you remove enough cyberware so you don't go over the limit when you remove it?

I have unequipped everything except my face cyberware. Still doesnt let me unequip. It doesnt even show up as an OS. It shows up next to the OS slot as an invisible yellow arrow.

Removal of cyberware has to be "confirmed" - so close the gui, let the doc do the surgery, then re-initiate cyberware purchase gui. You can't e.g. "hotswap" arm cyberware.

Just tried this out myself, in my case I could replace the compressor with a normal OS/Cyberdeck without an issue, it showed up as a normal OS when I went to the ripper to get it changed. I'm playing on gog/galaxy, but who knows what else could be affecting the issue.

Ive seen other people post about this same issue online. Only fix I found was to use a save editor mod and unequip de chrome compressor (shows up as capacity booster in the save files). So if anyone else has run into this bug, thats the fix. Its pretty simple but still, it should've been play tested before hand.

I have a solution, just remove all the modifications and at the end they will be able to remove the chrome compressor

Just to bump this conversation, because I had it happen to me.
The easiest, least obtrusive way to fix this was to download this save editor (presumed not-virus since it was on nexusmods):

This requires no other mod libraries, mod packages, blah blah blah, its a single download, 3mb.
Unzip, run program, click "LOAD SAVE", it went directly to my saves directory. I choose a manual save folder, and a single save.dat file was inside the folder.
It took about 5s to load everything.
Click "INVENTORY" button
Look for type "[M] Cyberware" in Slot "systemReplacementCW"
Right Click, choose "Unequip"

You may want to do what I did and just unequip ALL cyberware, to make sure everything is cleared out.

Save the changes, which prompts you to choose a location (I used same file).

load game and confirm it worked.
