Unable to install update 2.1?

I got home to install 2.1, had a thirty gig update, got finished with the update then started "installing"/"patching" at which case it told me it would take, and I quote "> 1Y".
Sat there, fake finished, went and tried booting it up, stuck at 100%. Checked, said failed due to corrupt download files. Gave me the option to update again, automatically validating files. This has happened three times. Never had this issue on steam before, unsure of what is happening, only started with this patch. I had no mods installed or anything of the sort. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue, except I have mods installed. Guess I can rule out mods being the problem now.

mine keeps restarting the download/update part as soon as it hits 100%

Alright so I manually restarted my Steam and had to redownload the update again. It finally installed, so try exiting Steam from the tray on the bottom right corner if you're on Windows and then start it up again.

However all of my mods are broken now, so I will have to update all of them until I can get the game started again. Thanks CDPR!

im having that issue too. mine said 1yr as well. ♥♥♥♥ dial up was faster than that lmao.

its validating now just switched to updating so will edit this post hopefully with good news

my wife just bought this game (base) it installed just fine for her. but damn im having a hard time getting this to update

So, I just kept downloading it. The one year thing appeared to be for show. After a moment, it would jump up 10-20% then do the climb from one minute to one year again, rinse and repeat. Got it to work that way, although my files were corrupted so I had to verify integrity at the end. I had heard CDPR had some issues when dropping the new patch, but this seems partly to be a steam issue with the game, as well. Honestly, not sure. Honestly, don’t care. Fixed it, that’s enough for me. Now I can go back to being absolutely absorbed by Night City. Gonna delta, chooms. Good luck fixing it, hopefully my solution of brute force works for you all too.

shut....same here. and even if it works, mods are gone i think...darn it. I spent quite some time curating them
