How to unlock cars?

Hi, the Autofixer website tells me I need to do more missions for Maumar. What kind of missions are those? Just do all gigs in his territory? Somehow I think they mean something different. The internet refers to "joyride" missions, but I don't see any of those.

The car theft jobs unlock in Dogtown, the DLC. You have to go thru the prologue of the DLC and exit your apartment for them to start showing up and get your first one.

They are random jobs that appear on the mini map when you are near them, you steal the car and deliver it to the location provided.

Ah, looks like this is only available whenever the Phantom Liberty expansion begins? So can't get all these cars unlocked before playing through the vanilla story.

Correct the car theft jobs is a new system introduced in the DLC.

Do they really require the DLC to being spawning? If so that is pretty wrack, they are a pretty fun way to play the game and to earn some eddies and XP, I expected them to spawn anywhere in the map after a certain point in the MSQ is reached

Yes the rutorial mission that unlocks it in Dogtown when you leave the apartment for the first time. After that they can spawn in Night City as well but the unlock mission is part of the DLC.

The car theft missions are spectacularly awful. There's one car in dog town that you can steal, but have no way to get out of dog town. Fun for the whole family!
