What do the icons on the Cyberdecks mean?
A few are simple enough.
The First in orange is cyber implant space it takes up, same as all implants.
Next is the icon for RAM, so how much ram it grants you. Odd it gets a special icon where other implants just say "+2 RAM".
Then you have program slots, displayed as a card icon. Simple enough.

But its the last one in off-green with the intelligence icon that confuses me. At first I assumed maybe it was minimum intelligence required to use it? But once I install it the number changes. I started at 8 dropped to 2 after I get out of the chair.

So is this just a visual bug or does it mean somthing else?

The last one is how many quickhacks you install in it.

Thanks for the replay Willow but thats inaccurate.

As I stated in the original topic, the icon of the card, the silhouette of a quickhack. Is how many programs or quickhacks you can install onto the cyberdisk.

You did make me think maybe it was a combined quality or something. but no, even with no quickhacks installed it still drops to 2 from the original 8. Tho seeing as it it can only hold 6 the math would make sense. But it doesnt.

hm I will have to load my netrunner and loock to see for sure.

I think that last icon is in regards to hacking, and how many slots you have to select numbers? Two seems way too low though. I think the default is four, and this might be an increase of 2 (so 6 slots)? I would hop in the game and check... but I'm waiting for the mods to get updated.

pretty sure its like this....

they yellow icon and number for cyberware capacity like other cyberware...

the bar is the same icon as RAM and is how much RAM it adds to your Max Capacity...

the card looking thing is the amount of quickhacks it can hold....

and the last one that has the dots and lines is the hacking feature on how many slots you gain when you hack terminals and such....

it should be the amount of picks you get when hacking access points iirc

I hadn't considered the buffer on access points. I think I do get 8 slots when hacking, which might mean the 2 when i look at the cyberdeck in the equipment screen is a bug. It still shows 8 when I look at it in the cybermod section.

I'll have to test that when I find another access point.

I think it has to do with how many buffer slots you get when connecting to access points. I never tested it either. I imagine the amount of buffer you get is based on your deck and intelligence.

4th on the right is the 'Attributes' cost in 'Intelligence' you'll need available to install that specific deck. It's literally the symbol for Intelligence in the Character menu.

You say that like it's such a matter in face when that makes no sense. I'm sure everyone recognizes the icon but disregarded it as a possibility. There are some with the icon of value 0-3. The minimum intelligence you can have is 3 so why do those values exist for the icon.

Ok after a couple upgrades it became pretty obvious.

The last icon is the amount of additional buffer slots you get when hacking. Base is 4, so if you have a 3 on the icon you get 7 slots etc.

Nothing to do with intelligence. (they use the icon for half a dozen things cyber related).

Unless something has changed that's not true either. I have 3 since you say base is four I should have seven but I don't.

Go to inventory, click on the cyberdeck, look at right hand panel where it calls out Access Point buffer bonuses and Cyberdeck ram. The access point buffer total is a combination of 4 base amount plus the cyberdeck bonus.
