Ive noticed cars splitting a lane for me on either side when I drive fast down the middle lane, especially on highways with multi lanes. I wonder if it's tied to street cred or your particular vehicle, that would be cool!
Do wish that the camera inn first person would act like the camera in third person, and that I could disable the auto-recentering, though.
This can be fixed with a mod. It restores the removed functionality. I thought it very odd that they would remove it, but I'm no game designer, so what do I know.

response curve "sensitive"
turning ramp up time "0.40" (from 0.30)
turning delay "0.10" (from 0.30)
and also under third person (controller) i changed:
response curve "sensitive"
seems to have really helped the driving. before it felt like massive lag between me hitting the stick and the car turning which would get out of hand real fast at high speeds.
EDIT: I can even actually drive the HOONicorn now!
What I have found though is a heavier preference towards bikes in general cause they seem to just be way easier to navigate around with. Cars just feel a lot clunkier. I haven't really found a car that makes me go "I wanna use this instead of a bike" yet unless I am trying to ram into things.
Controls are okay though even on Keyboard. It does take a bit to learn though.
But some things I have learned:
1. F*** cops on bikes. if you are not also on a bike, you will never lose them.
2. PEOPLE IN THIS DAMN CITY CANT DRIVE. Literally just smashing into things and sometimes just plowing through or not stopping and just ramming right into me. like daddy chill.
3. for now, Bikes > Cars
