Active Chimera Core bug

Carrying it in my inventory instead of placing it in apartment caused framerate to slow to a crawl while in main apartment and surrounding area. May also have been corrupting my save files.

Can say it does. Happens to me as well. when I put in the apartment I though that would fixe the framerate but at the cost of currupting my saves from then on. lost 5 hours of progress due to this.

This seems very serious if it's potentially breaking your saves. If you've not already, might be a plan to raise it with CDPR's support: https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/cyberpunk/pc/sp-technical/issue/1775/performance-issues-3

I also lost many hours of progress. This bug caused my save files to balloon from 6MB to 17MB and the game eventually started refusing to load them saying they were corrupt. Last uncorrupted manual save I had was from start of Phantom Liberty soooo...

So was this the thing that i had a prompt to "put it down" when i visited my apartment after
i was able to leave dogtown? I clicked it, an animation played out but nothing happened, there was nothing new in the enviroment, and the item was still in my inventory. didn't notice any framerate drops.

The Active Chimera Core is placed next to Scorpions warrior figurine. It is also a crafting component for 1 of 4 new mods. So once you're able to leave Dogtown I would put it in main apartment or craft the mod. Don't leave it in your inventory.

As i said, i'm not sure what happened, when i went to my apartment i saw a prompt telling me to "put it down" i didn't know what it was, i clicked it, an animation played out, but there was nothing new there, the prompt disappeared, and later i saw the item still in my inventory.

I noticed something like that yesterday after putting down the chimera core. Standing around the center of the room facing Johnny I got another "Put Down" prompt. I hit F but nothing seemed to be put down anywhere that I could see.

This can corrupt your save in long term after placing it down when you have dropped fps in V apartment because of it. Even when the game can load just fine after placing it , i lost every save from dogtown because of this and now i need to load back to very old save where the chimera core not cause fps drop and not placed on the table yet

I forgot to pick the thing up :/ Really a shame it cannot be retrieved later.

Probably good that you forgot to pick it up after the fight. Things more trouble than it's worth. I'm thinking I might do the same.

Now i am scare to craft it lol, the save size just go up so much when it cause bug in v apartment and can cause crash when cross play save enable because the save is too big, so ye just don't put it on the table

So you placed the core in your apartment and later started getting corrupt save files? Jeez, maybe it's best to use it right away to craft mod. Or just don't pick the stupid thing up to begin with.

Ye my save that get corrupt just went up to 22mb lol, cross save refuse to save because it too big, luckily i have the old save that not have that bug yet

Moral of the story... make more Manual Saves!

I had this problem, but placing it down on the table immediately fixed it.
