Anywhere I can read on some lore?

I just finished the Voodoo Boys mission and the characters discussed a lot of concepts and ideas that I'm not familiar with at all (like the Blackwall and cyberspace). This kind of thing has been happening since the beginning of the game, but this mission made me feel super lost a lot of the time, it feels like I'm playing a sequel to a game without playing the first one.

I get that Cyberpunk 2077 is apparently based on a table-top RPG universe, so maybe that's why. Is there any way I can learn some of the lore and general "rules" of this universe? Without spoilers of course, since this is my first time playing.

Yeah, there's a lot of lore that they just took from the source books for the table-top game, so they are definitely a place to get some of the lore. There's also some really good videos on Youtube that will cover the general timeline of events leading up to the events of the game, combining the guide books and content that was put within the game via the data shards and player conversations.

It's a pretty rich lore with multiple wars, the general disbanding of the USA, and the total collapse of the original internet because of malicious AI developed for said wars. It's pretty interesting stuff, and honestly, generally not as far-fetched as it first seems once you get into the details.

Check your install folders, there's a pdf copy of the original TTRPG in there. It's obviously set decades before this game but you'll still catch references to it.

In the diary in-game you get lots of lore bits too. Also in the notes trought the game youll get a good general idea.

I think you should let the game guide you to info about the Blackwall. otherwise you get too big of a spoiler.
