Its not really a dumb question. On the skill tree it just says "Blunt Weapons" and if you dont know fists count as a blunt weapons then it can be confusing. And experimenting isnt really a viable option since attribute respeccing isnt a thing.
Are we just gonna make fun of everyone who comes here to ask questions....good way to kill a growing playerbase.
What if its a new playthrough? Youre just gonna waste all that time instead of asking on the forum?
I don't like the new skill tree either. It's unclear to me why I cannot unlock certain skills/perks that are dimmed out even though I have plenty of points available to me (the top half in particular).
Granted, I only gave it a somewhat cursory glance before quitting out, but my first impression of it was that it was jank...and I'm annoyed to have had all my carefully-planned perks be reset due to the perk system getting another overhaul.
Good Luck, and ignore the mean answers.

You have to unlock the perks that lead up to the top perks. You can't take a perk in the top section, without taking all of the perks below it that have a line directly connecting to them.
I didnt see it a whining, I think its fustration. I had numerous posts about things I dont like about the new skill tree.
But mostly I responded bc the OP is correct. People are telling the OP they meed to learn how to read when the skill tree doesnt mention anything about fists or how it scales.
