Crashing for no reason

Playing fine until today it started to crash in the intro sequence. No mods, no tweaks. Verified the files.

Edit : Any overlay programs causes crash for some reason idk. Closing them works. Sigh...

Define overlay? The only thing I have running in the background is steam and I have the same problem

The reason is either ram oc or cpu oc reset them to default speeds and u should be alright. Unless u have cooling problems. Overheating is also a reason to crash to desktop.

Currently disabled MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner and game works fine. Idk what causes this right now. Played fine with them open for two days.

Crashing FOR a reason.

No issue with overlays using RTSS/Afterburner here. On your end.

Not quite how overclocking works. It's not just "remove OC and all is fine" - OC's can be completely stable. Just need to know what you're doing.

Yeah I have no OC settings or whatsoever. Other games work fine here. Just with Cyberpunk.

Yeah crashing seems to be a prevalent ever since PL rolled out (hasn't happened to me in 2.0 or prior to that). Most of my crashes happen during combat, and it seems like new combat features might trigger them. Other times they're completely random.

Overheating should actually cause your PC to shutdown. Not just the game...

Overheating in games should only cause throttling. Which will result in lower FPS. If the overheating gets critical your system will shutdown. Not only the game.

This shouldn't be this much of an issue with a game this old. CDPR's release of this DLC is almost as bad as the release of the initial game itself.
