Stamina for shooting guns is just dumb
As someone who consistently shoots firearms I never once got tired.

Stamina should apply to melee only

Guns have ammo and reloads.

Its a perfect balance between the 2 playstyles. The biggest issue with having stamina apply to guns is you take away perks that could have gone to damage or quality of life improvements. Now every gun tree have 4 to 5 stamina perks when it doesnt make sense to begin with.

Rant over.

I find it funny how you can run all around the city non stop without getting winded but fire a pistol a couple of times and your exhausted all of a sudden.....

honestly with the way they changed stamina I think it should probably get a new name or something besides "stamina".... I mean it seems more like its "anxiety" rather than stamina if you really look at it....

I mean you can run forever just fine... but firing a gun too much can cause aim to go wild more often... I mean just that one perk from the cool tree kinda points it out as being the case that its anxiety... the focus description at level 9 cool states... when your "stamina" is full and you aim and shoot you lose no "stamina" while focus is active....

I think thats pretty much a clear sign that thats what its supposed to be.... your nerves going out of whack and needing to calm down kinda thing....

Swords dont cut titanium bone also.
These arent the guns you shoot, these are variables in a system with scaling and balance in mind. I'm sure you can find one or wait to Mod it out.

Yes it's stupid.
Stamina usage for CQC weapons (blunt or sharp) is absolutely normal but....while firing weapons ???? No this is nothing but a bad joke that became reality.

I love it when people simple say "use a mod" when thet try to offer contructive criticism.

How about you try to argue why using stamina for guns is a good thing. All I fet from you is stamina is solely used to nerf gunplay....which is the point of the rant.

So you guys think shooting 3000 bullets in a row with a shotgun in real life, with all the recoil, doesnt drain your stamina?
shoopy Oct 3, 2023 @ 10:57am
It is silly but the build is pretty fun. The perks indirectly translate into more damage because you can full auto more/all the time and have more/all of your shots hit. This lets you stack Sharpshooter very easily which leads into Practice Makes Perfect where you can get a lot of crits, especially with high fire rate full auto. It melts HP bars, at least on normal.

I think it's funny when people argue with "realism" in a game like this or any video game for the matter. The stamina system is there for gameplay reasons, to make melee weapons feel less disadvantaged and probalby force a bit of tactical thinking so it's not just run and gun.
You don't have to like it but "just mod it out" is pretty much the best answer you're going to get because CD Project isn't going to patch that out because someone said so on the steam forums.

I liked Witcher 3 much better after I modded out Item degradation and the map showing all the quest markers not just the one for the quest I had active.
Those things where there for gameplay reasons as well. Doesn't mean that you have to like them.

I did make my point you just focus on offering a Mod as dismissing your point.
tbh , shooting (the gun fires. Nothing else included) is not tirering. For small guns atleast... For something like a NTW-20 , M82A2 or Browning Cal.50 it is. But this guns are not fired standing without help of bipods or placing it on cover. BUT holding guns and wanting to hit (aim) is tirering. Even for some Schwarzneggers you all want to be seen. Hold a AK-47 for 10 min without a string and your muscles cry in pain and you cant aim/shoot proper anymore. So the reducing stamine for SHOOTING is stupid. Yes. In MY EYES they should change it to aiming instead. Aiming reduces stamina.
But with a few Cybermods that inprove the body it works fine. There is no single gun that reduces my stamina bar completly. Even with holding the trigger down.
And fighting with swords , fists or what ever was always strong thanks to Sandisvistan and what ever.
And because of RPG mechanics , leveling enemys and enemys with health bars.... You cant , wont and shouldnt hold the trigger to mag dumb.

So in short: Holding weapons alone should reduce stamina. Not shooting. With more Cybermods and higher Levels shooting stamina is no problem anymore. And melee fights were always strong.

So instead of making melee better they decide to bring gunplay down. Ive seen so many times with RPGs and it never ends well. Especially if the nerf doesnt make any kind of sense. Guns already has disadvatges.

Melee never runs of ammo
Melee have perfect accuracy
Melee doeasn't have to reload

Yet guns need yet another thing that retricts gameplay.

So when people say guns need stamina mechanics to make melee viable.... that doesnt add anything to melee, its just makes guns worse.

Which is the point of the rant. I want to like everything about 2.0 but this is a clear steps backwards. 100% miss pun intended.

PS.... never asled for a change....just saying its stupid and the devs at CDPR never shot a real gun thier lives if this was a viable idea.

Unless youre really really really weak...thats not the case. Youre not walking around the city aimed in 24/7. Just walking around the city low ready is not tiring at all and it will take forever of constant shooting to feel any kind of muscle strain or fatigue.

Curious if you think V weighs less than 250lbs/120kilos?

You generally aren't gassed after the first couple shots and then tiptop after a two second breather. But I like the stamina system in this game; it adds a little complexity to the shooting and makes Cyberpunk a little more RPG without doing the Mass Effect 1 thing where the highly trained special forces character completely sucks with all weapons until they spend points in them.
